Gray started unzipping his sweater and placed it beside him on the grass. He was on the hill of the riverbank that he first acknowledged Erza as a nakama back when both of them were younger. A soft whisper of a breeze blew by that passed through his black hair. It was midday and the sun was shining over head of the riverbank making a suitable temperature for a conversation outside.

There was silence between the two friends just gazing at the scenery around them until Erza broke the lull.

"So what did you call me for Gray?" Erza asked still staring out into the calm river with little whispers of wind passing her crimson red hair lifting it off her arms to behind her shoulders.

"Just makin' sure you were alright Erza," Gray replied back with consideration that certainly did not show in his face, now turned to Erza who made a sign of comfort. She appreciated the support she gets from the guild but this particular companion was the first to realize the inside feelings always kept inside the prisoner locked up inside her own soul. Gray, was the first one that she opened up to even if there were no details attached.

Now turned to Gray's stare she confirmed his reply with a small nod and a sincere smile barely widening her lips.

"Sorry for never fully trusting you. Sorry for being a burden. Sorry for all the trouble I've caused and-"

Gray ended the list of apologies with a small gesture. He put his index finger over his mouth and nose and made a small hush sound through his calm smile.

"If you're really alright," He paused and patted her fragile head, "you wouldn't be apologizing now would you? No one could ever ask anymore from you ne?" he reassured the distorted woman who was usually head strong and stubborn with a strong will.

"Thanks Gray you'll always be the first one I'll come to," Erza broadened her smile and dazed at the true friend sitting beside her.

Gray grinned, "I chased after you first so I should have been first on your list anyways," he stood up proudly and grabbed his sweater that lay lifeless until he zipped it back on his torso. Grey started to walk back up leaving behind all the worries and anguish by the river to be forgotten. He looked back at the woman still sitting by the river bed.

"Aren't you coming?" Gray invited with a warm, soft voice.

Erza stood up and started to jog to the welcoming company that awaited her.

"Yes."
