Hi! I'm kinda new to this fandom, but I think I should delve into others...so ya..
Title: Birds Are Meant to be Free
Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean
Pairings: NorringtonxSparrow
Summary: My take on why Narrington let Jack go...
A/N: Now, this is my first PotC fic, please be nice...its minor slash, may be OOC...also Jack-speak is kinda hard to write espically when your aunt has your DVD so you can't listen to him talk so please be nice...
Oh yeah, I took one of Jack's lines from CotBP and changed it a bit...so I don't own that...
Disclaimer: Don't own the movie or anything that has to do with PotC

"Commodore, 'ell me, when ye had me at the gallows, why didn't ye jus' end me 'ere? Then ye could prance around 'ere sayin' that ye put the great'st pirate to death!"
Norrington snorted, "You make it sound as if you your not greatful, like you want to want to be hanged. Do you Mr. Sparrow?"
"Its Captain mate, Captain."
"As of right now, you're no more of a Captain as I am a Commodore, we are not at sea, so it would be lavish to add such titles to ones name."
Jack grinned, his gold teeth glinting in the light, "Aye, but ye see, we are at sea, so 'at itself should be 'nough to add our ranks to our names. Commodore."
Norrington just looked out over the dark sea, the silhouette of a ship visible, yards away. "So tell me Mr. Sparrow, what are you doing here in Port Royal? Looking for more trouble?"
"What do ye think mate? To raid, piliage, an' plunder o' course!"
Norrington sighed and messaged his temples. "Can't you be honest for once in your life?"
"And 'ere is where yer problem is mate."
"Oh really, do ellaborate Sparrow."
"Well mate, an honest man is always dishonest...never honest, but a dishonest man, like me self, is always dishonest..honestly..." Jack said waving his hands around, to get his point across.
"Alright then Sparrow," Norrington said walking closer to Jack, standing directly infront of him, and leaning down, "What are you not doing here." His face was close to Jack's.
"Well mate," Jack said getting closer too, "I'll answer that with 'nother question, why didn't ye hang me Commodore?"
Norrington just chuckled and turned away, "You don't get it do you?"
"Aye, maybe I do."
"Please do share then. Captain."
"When ye say it like that Commodore, ye make it sound..." He waved his hands around trying to find the right word, "insultin'"
"Alright, let me rephrase that, please do share then, Jack."
"Well, ye see, I am the last pirate that is worth yer time, so if ye 'ere to hang me...yer life would be boring."
Norrington chuckled, "You really don't get it?" He stepped back up to Jack and leaned down again, his lips mere inched from Jack's, "I did it," his lips brushed against Jack's in a chaste kiss, "Because," he whispered in Jack's ear, "Sparrows are meant to be free."
