Anon: Disappointment/Disappointed

Disappointed

Tiny crystals fell from the sky, drifting lazily down.

With wide eyes, he watched them land on his skin. Instead of melting- like they did on Daddy's- they began to collect in little lines along his arm.

"Look Dad, look!" he cried excitedly, raising his arm so his father could see.

"Well that's great, Junior," his parent ground out with badly concealed sarcasm. 'Junior' missed the frosty tone and beamed up at his dad, who responded with forced patience, "But we're trying to make snow here, Cami, try to focus."

Cameron was too busy, lifting his chin up to the heavens and opening his mouth wide to catch the icy flakes on his pink tongue. Closing his eyes, he didn't see his father stride toward him; but he felt the man's steely hand crush his upper arm and felt himself being wrenched around.

His blue eyes went wide, fearful of the sudden anger pouring from his father's expression.

"Look, Junior, I don't know why you're bent on making a joke of the family name," his dad's voice was full of sneers and rippling anger, and he doesn't stop, "But if you ever wanna become a man, you have to cut thecrap and start following my example."

Cameron looked at his father- his idol- swallowed hard, wishing his dad would let his arm go, and nodded.

"Sure, Dad," he replied softly. "Sure."
