To say that the situation was awkward is definitely an understatement. They stood there, staring at each other; faces red, hickeys forming on her neck already, his shirt halfway open, her eyes tearing up.

"Karen, I love you. I'm in love with you, but…not…in love with you. Understand?" He explained.

"But…but I thought…" She stammered, tears now spilling down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry…" He reached out for her, but she stepped back, her eyes glued to the floor. She pulled her silk robe tighter to her body and after a few minutes of silence he spoke again. "I should go…" He stared at her for a moment before walking forward and kissing her cheek. She flinched away and turned her back to him. He sighed before walking out her bedroom door.

Karen leaned against the wall and slid down, sobbing so hard she could barely breathe. Her heart was completely broken. Sure, she had been dumped before, but it never compared to what she was currently feeling. She thought about how this all began. It was about 3 months ago…

"Karen, I'm depressed," were the first words Jack said to Karen when he walked through her bedroom door.

"Aww, Poodle, what's wrong?" She asked and patted the spot next to where she was laying on the bed.

"I didn't get the part in the new pilot they're shooting. It's a spin-off of "Cheers" called"Queers"."

"Poor baby." She pouted and hugged him close. "Tell mama all about it."

He laid his head on her chest and wrapped and arm around her waist. With a big sigh, he began his story about his audition. Throughout the story, Karen nodded and listened carefully. Her hand began to subconsciously run through his short hair and Jack slightly shivered. A few minutes later, the story was done and he lifted his head so his chin was between her breasts.

"Can you believe that, Kare?" He asked with a pout.

"I can't, Jackie. They just don't know talent when they see it."

He sighed and then buried his head in her boobs again, inhaling the scent of her. She smelled of perfume, strawberries, alcohol and just…Karen. He absolutely loved it.

"Hey, hey, hey, what ya thinkin', McFarland?" She giggled.

"I'm thinking…That I wanna get away…"

His answer actually shocked her. Frowning, she asked, "What? Get away? Where do you want to go?"

"I don't care; just as long as I'm away from this city and right next to you."

The bitterness in his tone made her shiver, but she grinned when he mentioned that he only wanted to be with her. "Well, why don't we go to this secret island that I know about?"

He lifted his head and looked at her. "Secret island? Where?"

"Honey, that's why it's a secret! Stan bought it a few years back before I met you. It's amazing! The only people that live there are the maids, butlers, and chefs. We pretty much have it all to ourselves."

"Karen, that's a great idea! When can we leave?" He jumped up off the bed, and bounced around the room.

"Well, if you want, we can leave tonight?"

"That's fantastic! I'll go pack my bags! I'll be back in an hour. This is so exciting! Thank you, Karen!" He ran over to kiss her cheek and then pretty much hopped out of the room.

Karen smiled and stood, walking over to the intercom. "Rosario! Get in here and pack my bags! I'm taking a vacation!"
