Teachers know everything.
Trisha Elric sat at her desk, quietly pondering the often-voiced thought while her students were in their gym class. It was definitely true that they did know a lot of things-besides the usual scholarly knowledge that every teacher possessed, she knew about everything that ever happened on a given school day.
Like, for example, the gorgeous machinery that little Winry invented, even though she was only in first grade. Or how Riza would always have perfect scores on all of her exams (Trisha would know; she was an eighth grade teacher herself). Once, Ed had tried to defend Winry and Al from a bully, resulting in tears and bruised heads for both boys, courtesy of the Almighty Wrench.
There were also troublesome events like Lust breaking the dress code, Gluttony destroying the nurse's weighing scale during physicals, Envy impersonating the principal for a week, and the pranks that Roy Mustang and his gang would pull every day. In fact, Roy had once tried to replace the gym uniforms in the girl's locker room with hot-pink tank tops and navy-blue miniskirts. Now that was quite a day.
Opening the door for her students to file in, Trisha smiled to herself as she noticed Paninya stealing someone's pen and Roy staring at Riza for what seemed to be the billionth time. After all, teachers did know everything.
This idea just sorta hit me a while back...and I wrote this shortly (aah, Ed, no!) afterwards and forgot about it...and here it is now. I actually like this, though.
To explain: The school that Trisha teaches at (Resembool Academy, Home of the Rangers) is a school that teaches every grade from preschool to high school.
Do you see the reference to one of my 'randoms' there? If so, help yourself to an (imaginary) sea salt ice cream.
