We broke the easiest rule of the Games. That's how careless we were.

I can't say anyone of us saw it coming. We were first strangers, separated by the boundaries of our Districts and confined by our stereotypes of each other.

Then we became enemies, the moment we got reaped, whether by choice or mere misfortune.

That was how it should have stayed until one of us became the victor or all of us were dead.

But then we all broke the simplest rule and became friends. Not alliances, but actually friends.

There was a deep understanding among us, despite not knowing each other five days ago.

In some other world, if we weren't in a game where we had to win or die, we would be best friends.

But we were all in a deadly game, where friendship was disregarded.

Despite this, I don't regret it.
