Kaito opened the door to his house as quietly as possible. The sound of droplets from the rain hitting the window was the only thing breaking the dead silence. Kaito takes off his shoes slowly and puts down the groceries he got on his way home down on the counter. He opens the bag, pulling out a bouquet of flowers and chocolate.

Kaito takes a deep breath and makes his way down the hall. He'd gotten a text earlier from Meiko letting him know of what had started while he was away, demanding him to stop at the convenience store to buy more pads. Kaito had spent an entire month mentally preparing for this moment to strike again, but it came way too quickly.

Three knocks on Meiko's door emitted a small groan from the other side. Kaito took this as a sign to open the door a crack.

"Meiko? Are you in here?"

"What kind of stupid question is that?"

"I'll take that as a yes." Kaito opened the door all the way and stepped inside.

"Go away! I don't want you here." Meiko sat up in her futon, her face was extremely flushed. Kaito looked over to see several empty bottles of several kinds of alcohol next to her.

He sighed, "You could have asked for me to bring medicine, you didn't have to get yourself drunk."

"Fuck you."

"That wasn't very nice"

"It wasn't meant to be, dumbass."

"Okay okay, just calm down."

"Did you just tell me to calm down!?"

"Wait, no I-"

"Did you just come into my room and then tell me calm down?"

"I just wanted to make you feel better."

"You're not helping! You're the last person I want to see. Just go away."

Kaito ducked just in time as Meiko's shoe shot towards him in a blur, and hit the wall behind him.

"What the hell Meiko. What did I do to make you so angry at me?"

"I don't know!" Meiko yelled. Immediately her facial expression relaxed and then sagged. She bent her head down and began crying. Kaito instantly began to feel guilty.

"Oh no! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry. I know you're having a bad say. I'll just leave." Meiko crying was a rare sight. If you make her cry, you must have done something awful to her.

"Wait!" Kaito had already turned on his heal and was making his way out, but stopped. He turned around to see Meiko staring at him, looking desperate. "Please don't leave. Don't leave me alone."

"What? But, weren't you just saying the opposite a second ago?"

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."

Kaito sighed. He would never understand how women worked during their time of the month.

"Here," Kaito walked forward, revealing the flowers and chocolate he had been hiding behind his back the whole time.

Meiko's eyes widened. "What is this?"

"Call it a peace offering"

Meiko laughed, forcefully patting Kaito on the back, causing him to wince. Meiko looked up at him, swaying a little. Now that she wasn't angry anymore she was more visibly drunk.

She took a hand up to rest it on his cheeks. "My god you are so beautiful." Meiko breathed out, raising her head up to kiss him. Kaito was surprised when instead she kissed him on the nose, before giggling like a little girl.

Kaito smiled and kissed the top of her head and made her lay down. He set down the chocolates next to her and went to go put the flowers in a vase. He picked a red vase with white flowers on it to match the color of the real flowers.

When Kaito got back Meiko was already asleep. He smirked and put the flowers on a small table in the corner of the room.

"Sweet dreams." He turned off the light, leaving her to her slumber.
