She's changed, she's new now

She's moved on, somehow

The pain is gone now

But she still needs room to breathe

x

Avery was going through the music on her laptop. It had been a fair while since she had been kidnapped, but there was something about the way her saviour and her friend looked at each other and talked...

She was jealous.

x

You've changed, you're silent

For all those years spent

Explaining what it was that you really meant

x

Eleanor stood in her apartment, resting on her good leg. She was singing along to the song.

She should probably tell someone about what was happening in her head.

But if he couldn't see it...

Would anyone care?

x

Now you won't say it aloud

You'd rather be silent and proud

But down inside you still lies the beast

If she's the reason you live

You'll only get what you give

And what you give her is no release

x

He was hiding outside her apartment. He could hear the music playing quite clearly.

He thought about the two most important women in his life right now.

He could see so much out of place for the both of them.

How do I tell her?

x

You've changed, you've grown up

Your wounds have sewn up

Your time has shown up

Yet you still can't find your way

x

She scratched the back of her hands as she listened to her speakers.

She liked the man who had saved her. She knew she did. But did Eleanor also like him?

x

No lies, no secrets

This is your life now keep it

In time you'll see it

x

He was debating whether or not to walk up to the door and knock, ask to come inside and talk, then see where it went from there.

Why was this choice so difficult?

What is wrong with me?

x

The faces you have put on

Have held you back all along

You're a king not a pawn, so cease

To be so loyally fake

You'll only get what you take

And what you've taken is no release

x

She continued to sing. Her throat was vying to cut out on her.

No, I must finish the song. I have to be able to do something normal.

She hated lying to everyone, but she had to. She had to look normal.

She had to sing.

x

And one day everyone will smile again

You'll feel like a child again

And look behind us

And think of all the stuff that's going on

The stuff we're growing on

x

She wished she could go back to the time where it was just the two of them, the two of them running free without a care in the world.

Why do things always have to get so complicated?

x

It's an ashen quadrant affair

Except you just don't care

Your only aim has been to appease

Lay down your pride and your gun

You're not the only one

Who's still looking for some release

x

He had to tell her, but he couldn't.

Is this emotion? Why now? She's already explained to me about the different types of emotion and the different levels within. Could I possibly be feeling it?

x

And if the rules they can bend

You know you still could be friends

But it doesn't rely on me

x

Avery sat in quiet contemplation as the song played.

They would be better together...

x

This is as far as I go

I only say what I know

And what I know is you need release

x

He took one final look at her apartment, turned, and walked away.

She watched him leave from the window.

Something inside her felt like it was going to break.
