"Hello." It was like starting all over again. It was-starting all over again- in a sense. Root gazed happily at the primary computer that Harold used to build her again.

Hello

The reply was almost immediate. "Do you remember me?" It was a stupid question. The possibility of The Machine cramming any knowledge of the hacker into her core heuristics was incredibly low.

This surprised Root. But it was a good one compared to what had been happening. "Fantastic. Listen." The woman held up a picture of Sameen. It seemed as though She was scanning it, but Root wasn't sure. "Her name is Sameen Shaw,"

Scanning for information

"No need to do that, just listen. Sameen... she's the most important human in the world. Okay? I don't care what Harold tells you. We couldn't do any of this without Sameen and now she's missing,"

Silence.

"You have to help us find her."

When her plea was met by silence silence Root got up, sighing. "Okay, leave her behind. I can tell your dad that you need help on the caring thing."

The distress in her voice was very evident. Delivering the same message every day, the same plea. It wasn't working. What she didn't notice was the small text at the bottom of the computer screen.
