How to Deal With Having A 100% Mortal Dad
Annabeth
I Iris messaged Percy early that morning.
"Hey Annabeth," He yawned. "Where are you that you felt the need to call me so early in the morning?"
"Percy, it's already nine in New York, it isn't early."
"Where are you?" He asked, as he yawned again.
"My dad's, remember? Father's day, and he insisted I come back here for at least the day."
"Oh, that was today?"
"You're lucky, not having to deal with a mortal dad."
"Annabeth!" My dad called.
"Speak of the devil," I murmured, "I'll message you later."
"Bye."
My step-mom had made breakfast, and I was forced to sit through the whole thing, with my dad focused on working and eating at the same time, my step-mom trying to make small talk, and the twins eating more pancakes than they could possibly stomach.
Her step-mom finally said something that caused her to listen to the conversation.
"Annabeth, why don't you and you father take the boys out to do something?"
"I'm sure dad has work to do."
"What do you think, Frederick?"
"Hmm?" Her father looked up from his work.
"Don't you think taking Annabeth and the boys out is a great idea?"
"Wonderful." He went back to his work.
They went bowling. Actually, Bobby and Matthew went bowling, her dad did work, and she brought her book.
"Annabeth," Her dad said as they were leaving. "Thank you for coming."
It wasn't that bad a day.
Piper
"Pipes," Jason came over to me. "Have you talked to your dad today?"
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Quarter to one, why?"
"Oh, gods! I promised I'd call at noon." I ran to Chiron's office to make a video call.
My dad answered right away, and I wondered if he'd been waiting for me, and instantly felt bad.
"Hey dad."
"Hey Pipes, how's camp?"
"It's great, dad, but how are you?"
"I'm great."
And we talked for a full five minutes before he gets interrupted.
"I'll see you, dad."
"I love you, Pipes."
I smiled. "Happy Father's day."
It was the longest call we'd ever had.
(A/N I have just realized that these two are the only of the seven with mortal fathers. On another note, I haven't been on my computer in three days, and haven't written in even longer. BUT school ends in three days and then I'll write a hell of a lot more. Adios! Happy Father's Day.)
