Passionate - Prologue

Kagome looked up at the ceiling while still sitting in her chair. She fingered the mate mark upon her neck from Sesshomaru. That was a year ago. This is now. Sesshomaru was a passive husband, one who would always help out and bring home flowers. That was how everything played out, until Kagome kissed her best friend from college as she said her farewells to him. Sesshomaru had threatened a break up of their bond if she were to ever see her best friend again. Nothing was ever the same after that night.

Now, Sesshomaru not only didn't bring home flowers, he also didn't endeavor her in his playful kisses or hug her when she was scared. He would sit at the desk located in the corner of the master bedroom and type expertly away at his laptop. Kagome had once whined about this, and he shot her the most disgusted look she had ever seen in her life. She made sure never to cross him like that again.

To Sesshomaru, they weren't broken up; they were just on bad terms. But to Kagome, this was almost equivalent to a break up. To put it simple, she was just living under a stranger's roof. One who she once had plans with; one who had treated her carefully and gently. Now she lived with a selfish jerk, a demon that came home only to enjoy the pleasures she laid upon the table for him to eat. She was tired, without a doubt, but she still loved him. Only confusing thoughts could surface her mind. Kagome couldn't even continue with her writing job. Although she had a tight deadline due the next week to her publisher, things still weren't working out. Her head was so clogged with thoughts that she couldn't think of a synopsis for her new characters. This was albeit too sad for Kagome, Japan's number one writer.

OlO

The laptop buzzed as Sesshomaru stared stoically at the screen. To tell the truth, he missed loving Kagome, terribly. But it happened. Kagome broke her one promise she had vowed to keep. She had betrayed him and his feelings, which almost tore him apart when he spied Kagome, brush her creamy lips against her best friend's. The ones that kissed him every night and comforted him with words he loved to hear; the lips that spilled Kagome's ecstasy at high emotional moments. At that time, anger boiled and ripped him inside. In order to drown himself with depression, he drank heavily that night and passed out while in the kitchen. He couldn't remember the time he scolded his wife and threw a glass bottle of rice wine at her head when Kagome came home that night. The next day; however, her forehead illuminated a purple lump. It wasn't that he was sorry, he just didn't care, and she deserved it.

Sesshomaru sat back in his seat and rubbed his temple. Work was becoming more hectic because of the extravagant numbers of homicide crimes. Not only that, he needed an embrace from time to time to forget the troubling issue at hand. Then he had an idea.

"Kagome." He called from his laptop.

She came in his room, not a minute too late, to find herself walk straight into her not-really-husband. Sesshomaru inwardly smiled at her routine and wrapped his arms around her small body.

Faintly, he heard her ask him, "Sesshomaru, is there anything wrong?"

He wanted to tell her that he loved her, but instead, he said, "Oh, I just remembered you need to do the cleaning in the master bedroom today."

"What?" She asked suddenly.

"Do the cleaning in this room. Now."

"But I just cleaned it yesterday!"

"Did I tell you to talk? Go clean. Now."

Kagome dropped her shoulders and left to get the vacuum cleaner.

Oh yes, everything was just fine for Japan's number one Captain Sesshomaru Taisho.
