The prompt Elisa told me to do this time was "below." I don't own NCIS...
Even though she was below him in rank, she was far more skilled. Ziva David had more experience than her partner, Tony DiNozzo, even though she was eleven years his junior. She had been involved with Mossad and she had been trained to kill. She knew all of the specific things to do in order to control someone without seizing them. She knew how to kill people without leaving a trace of evidence behind. She knew how to create and assemble a bomb in the blink of an eye.
The only thing she was not good at was dealing with the grieving wife. Ziva was not good with comforting the upset children. She couldn't handle the tears or the sadness. That was not how Ziva knew how to handle a bad situation. She never cried. She just held her head up high and pushed through it.
When it came to comforting the victim's family though, that was a completely different story. Ziva couldn't do it. She felt so out of place. She would always try her hardest to soothe the grieving wives, but her eyes would always beg for help.
He would always help her. He was always there by her side in a moment's notice when she needed the help. He would take control and comfort the grieving families. He would put his arm around the wives' shoulders and guide them away from the bullpen, whispering comfort words in their ears.
Ziva would just stand there and watch him, relief washing over her. He knew how to comfort the people when she didn't.
Tony DiNozzo was always there to comfort Ziva as well. He was always there to hold her and she could just let go of everything. Even though she was below him in rank, they were equals in their relationship outside of work and Ziva would not change a thing.
