A/N: Wow, another one? In the same day! Could be for many pairings on opposite sides, but I wrote it with the intention of a quick Shaak Ti/Grievous thing. Anyway, enjoy!

Daylight.

They fight, angrily slicing away at the other with every intention of drawing blood. In the light of the sun, no one can deny their utter hatred; different sides, different minds, different species. They march into battle, their armies behind them and their shadows cast long by the golden rays of sunshine.

Twilight.

It's getting too dark to see—and too dark to fight. She retreats to her camp, heals the wounded, regroups with her men, and meditates quietly in her private tent. He falls back for a moment, leaving the scrap metal of his fallen soldiers in the dust, re-approves his own strategy, and swipes the head off his incompetent soldier, storming back to his own private quarters.

Nightfall.

Unnoticed, she slips out of her tent and creeps into the forest behind her camp. She waits, her usually calm heart throbbing. Would he come? Of course he does. Before she even realizes it, he emerges from the trees, takes one long stride, and enfolds her in his arms as though he's been waiting forever.

"You came," she whispers, stunned.

"Of course I did," he answers without hesitation. "I love you."

His passion is infectious, and here, hidden from the sun's prying eye under the gentle cloak of darkness, they are free to love.

A/N: Eh, not long enough to be a ficlet, not short enough to be a drabble...meh, I'll take what I can get. :) Lemme know what you think! Reviews are ALWAYS appreciated.
