"I'm sorry okay for whatever I had done I'm truly sorry just knock it off already kazuha!" heiji blurted stopping in the middle of their walk home.
"Huh" kazuha answered rather innocently "what are you talking about "she continued confusion written all over her face.
Kazuha was acting weird lately she was too quiet and she never bickered or even shot him any of her infamous "aho"s as she usually did so as a part of being Heiji his mind drifted almost instantly to something big he had done I mean they don't usually give each other the silent they?
Heiji was completely and utterly surprised at her response
"huh" he echoed "so you're not mad at me"
"And why would I be? "She raised an eyebrow
"uh-um"heiji stuttered "nothing" he managed to say at last
"Is there something wrong then? "He asked worriedly (not that he cared or anything, he was just curious)
"Oh no, nothing" she replied faking a smile
Heiji instantly saw through that smile she faked and crossing his arms shot him a really-are-you-kidding-me glare.
"fine I'm just in a bad mood. What's the big deal?"she said in an annoyed yet uncertain tone.
She wasn't really the type to worry people with her problems especially heiji having in mind that he would prefer to mock her than sooth her, he is just a hopeless case.
"fine" he replied
She was kinda hurt by his reply, just for the tiniest bit though because deep inside her she wanted him to care, to ask her why. She sighed as she shook the thought out of her head after all heiji wasn't the most sentimental guy in the world.
They had stopped for a while now and the sun was beginning to fade so faking a smile she pulled heiji buy the hand
"Hayaku, were gonna be late and dad will worry" she said almost enthusiastically as they started moving again.
In reality her father hadn't come home for the past 5 days and she had been living completely alone though heiji was oblivious to all of this. If he had known-she thought-he would become all worried and protective and she didn't need that, she was a grown girl and she could take care of herself plus he probably had more important things to fuss over.
So when they reached the house she bid him goodnight and told him to go reassure his parents for they were probably worried. Guess he didn't buy her excuses earlier
"Sure you're gonna be okay zuha?"
"Yeah" she lied again
"Goodbye then" he waved at her as he ran towards his house.
She waved back and when he was out of sight she took out the house keys from their hiding spot and opened the door to her bleak, lonely house. She then switched on the and flung her bag violently to the floor and in a desperate trial to make the house cozy she brought herself a thick blanket and laid on the couch to watch TV, the movie that came up was one about family.
"How great!" she chuckled gloomily at the irony of her situation
And as if to make her day even brighter she felt her warm tears slide down her cheeks.
"Oh, can this day get any worse?" she thought as she switched her TV off and buried her face into the pillow.
