I think this is my first McAbby fic. Maybe. Either way, criticism is welcome, but not depreciating criticism, that's just rude. Anyway, I don't own NCIS.
Enjoy!
McGee was brought from his thoughts by a knock at his door. Looking at his computer screen he wondered who would want to see him at eleven thirty at night. When the knocking kept going, he got up from the seat and walked to the door. Surprise covered his face once he opened it.
"Abby?" Was all he said.
"Hi. I know it's late, and I was gonna write you a letter, but then that didn't seem right so—"
"Come in." He told the Goth effectively cutting her off. She walked into the agent's apartment.
"Sorry for what I did to you earlier." She stated softly.
"Abs, it's okay."
"No, it's not! You're my friend and I was rude. So, if you're mad, I'm sorry." She mumbled as she looked around the room.
"I'm not mad." McGee stated. "I was worried." At the last statement, Abby looked at the tech genius.
"You were?" She asked a little bit of her happier personality shining through.
"Yeah. You were upset and I couldn't fix it." McGee added. The forensic scientist shifted uncomfortably.
"You aren't the only one who wants to make things better." He stated staring at her. Abby's eyes were now boring an invisible hole in the floor of her friend's apartment. After another moment of silence she spoke.
"I know. Gibbs talked to me about it." She softly tells McGee as a smile creeps on her face. "He gave me back a fortune I gave him. See?" She adds as she gave her friend the piece of paper. The man read the fortune and smiled.
"Looks like it came true." He said softly before handing the fortune back. Abby nodded, her pigtails swaying a bit. She looked up at him after taking the paper back and smiling.
"Thank- you for tracking my cell phone." Abby told him wishing she could come up with a better way of displaying her thanks.
"I'm just glad you're back Abs. It's definitely not the same without you." McGee stated as he gave the scientist a hug that not only he, but also she desperately needed.
