Neville Longbottom. Whenever anyone heard the name they would immediately think of a round faced boy, crying on platform 9 3/4 over Trevor, the toad he had lost. His grandmother had expected him to be sorted into Hufflepuff and was pleastly surprised to know he went to Gryffindor, but surprised none the less.
All his life, no one ever expected anything from him. It was during such times he wished his parents were there to tell him that they believed in him, he had always heard people around him complain about how their parents had expected things from them, but Neville never had it. Sometimes, he thought if Harry understood it, but yet it would be different,Harry's parents were dead, Neville's didn't remember him. He just wanted his parents to tell him that they were proud of him, but that wasn't going to happen considering they didn't remember him.
In his first year, Neville was a frightened, crying boy who kept losing his toad and after losing fifty points for Griffindor, people would be very rude to him. And then there was there was Professor Snape, who absolutely hated him. His sole consolation was Herbology, Neville's best subject, but his gran thought it was useless.
But none of it mattered, not today, not this moment, when he was standing in front of Voldermort, it didn't matter his parents would never remember him, didn't matter at all because he knew that if they saw him right now, they would be proud of him, very proud, because they went mad fighting him and the reason he was standing here now was the reason he was in Griffindor and he would make sure that Harry, Remus, Tonks, Fred, Lily and James Potter, no one would die in vain.
So, when Harry came out and was now fighting Voldermort, Neville killed the snake with the sword of Gryfindor.
Now, a day after the war, he was here at St. Mungo's and like every other day his parents didn't recognize him, he still told them that he was in the Battle, and helped in killing Voldermort.
His mother, who didn't remember him but was rather fond of him said something rather incohrent, but which sounded like: Your parents must be proud of you.
And that was all he needed, he knew his parents were proud of him and that was enough to make his world perfect.
