Author's Notes: This is my first Doctor Who fic. Hinted Romana II/Ten.

That man could be quite thick sometimes.

You would think that her walking through the doors of the TARDIS, healthy and in one-piece, would be enough to convince him of her continued existence. Or, if not that, the fact that the TARDIS hummed almost excitedly over her reappearance would be enough proof.

But no, he just had to be difficult. He merely shook his head at her and returned his attention to the console. She was positive he had muttered something about hallucinations as he did so.

Well, desperate times called for desperate measures.

She strode up to him, tapped him lightly on the shoulder, and slapped him hard across the face when he tilted his head to look at her.

"Ow," he yelped out of shock. "What did you do that for?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Do you believe I exist now, Doctor?"

He stared at her for a long moment-so long, in fact, that she considered giving him another slap-before he took her completely off guard by wrapping his arms around her in a hug. She stood still, her hearts beating a tad faster (though she would never admit that, especially not to him).

"I thought you were dead," he murmured almost too quietly for him to hear.

He was a bit more affectionate in this regeneration, much more human, than the one she had traveled with.

She supposed she would just have to adjust to it.
