In the end, in the end there is nothing more.
It's the end, one big smile before you dance with the dead
The Elevator took me higher, all the way up to the 1000 LifePoints-mark. Next to me, in the right upper corner was Marik, the guy I'd sworn to defeat.
Of course I valued my promise to Yugi, of course I'd wanted to fight him (fight him and win, mind you!), but now there was something else I'd have to do first.
Mai.
Mai was important to me, and this guy had hurt her.
No one got away with hurting a friend of Jonouchi Katsuya without paying for it.
So what to do now? Ordering my monster to attack Marik just like that would just result in failure, that much I knew. Marik had two cards covered, and if one of them was a trap card, and I'd be the one to take the damage, I would lose my LifePoints now, and then I'd have to count on Yugi to defeat that guy.
I was done relying on Yugi all the time.
I drew a card. The Graverobber! That might actually work!
Grinning, I covered the card and ordered my monster to attack Kaiba.
As expected, Kaiba activated a trap card, believing he's outsmarted me, and the attack came blasting back. With Graverobber, I stole the card from Kaiba's Graveyard, and could redirect the attack at Marik, who was so busy looking evil that he didn't see it comng.
Take that, ya fool. I flashed a big smile.
See ya in the Semifinals.
One last breath before you leave, it`s still the end.
No more tears, no more fears and no more lies.
When Marik noticed what had happened, I swear he looked like he was ready to murder someone, and that someone being me. I, however, was actually proud of myself. I had spoiled his plan to fight Yugi.
The next blast came too quickly for me to notice; Kaiba had ordered his monster to attack me and my LifePoints dropped to zero.
Again, the elevator rose.
So this was it, huh? This was the last step in order for me to fight that guy.
That guy who had hurt Mai and Bakura and even his own partner.
Taking a deep breath, I straightened myself and faced the evil in person.
It's the end, one big smile before you dance with the dead.
Take the ride and join the end and wave goodbye.
"Jonouchi-kun…this is the first battle in the semi-finals, so…"
"I know, Yug", I interrupted him. "Trust me."
The truth was, I didn't feel hal as confident as I tried to make myself sound. That guy looked like he didn't mind killing people in cold blood, and Kaiba's Anti-motivation speech didn't help either, but I couldn't exactly get out of it now.
Believe in me, Yugi. Please. Because I really need someone to do that right now.
So I did what I do best; I smiled a big smile and turned to face Marik. I was so gonna make him pay for what he did.
And if I was going to hell, I was going to drag him down with me.
