summary: it's easier to kill when they're monsters/on guilt
-and the bow string stretches back, the arrow knocked and the aim is firm, you will not waver, not now (although this isn't right, you think, this isn't their fault and they are the ones who are suffering). Release her from her torment, a torment others placed upon her, torment your benefactor made worse, torment you must continue. (this is an evil beyond the distance of your bow and how can this make it better?)
nonetheless your arrow flies and the whelp falls and you pretend the broodmother's roar is of rage rather than sorrow.
(it's easier to kill when they're just monsters)
