Yeah...I know this oneshot pretty much sucks. I wrote it during a thunderstorm last week. It's really short, the title is just plain weird, and the idea and writing isn't that great. So, feel free to tell me how bad it is.
"I'll always be here for you…I'll always care for you…I'll always love you…Always."
Those words…Those cursed words, spoken by the one she loved. The one she had given her heart to. Her other half who had promised to protect her.
Of course, that promise was meant to be broken.
The tears dripped down her cheeks as she hugged her arms tight around herself, shudders running throughout her body. The vicious image of his mangled form flashed behind her eyes.
Rain began to fall, first a light drizzle, but soon after a torrent of blinding raindrops filled the air. It soaked the emotionally-torn girl's clothes, but she was too caught up in her own saddened thoughts to notice.
Continuing down the old country road, she came to a stop at the base of a hill. At the top of the hill was a large pine tree, around which a deadly creature was curled. Not taking much notice, the girl continued past the tree and into a hidden camp.
The place she had once called home.
And the resting place of her beloved.
Making her way across the camp, which was barren at the moment, the girl arrived at her final destination.
An empty field.
The spot where a single grave stood.
Overcome by devastation, the girl fell to her knees in front of the grave, tears blending into the pouring rain.
Perseus Michael Jackson
Savior of the World.
Our Hero.
No birth or death date was inscribed on the grave, but that was by request. A way to make him seem unreal, perhaps. A figment of everyone's imagination.
Obviously, that wasn't what it had accomplished.
Dripping blonde locks falling into her steel gray eyes, the girl produced a single red rose from a jacket pocket. Pain overwhelmed her as she laid it down on the grave.
"I'll always love you," she had promised back. "I'll always believe in you. I'll always watch out for you. I'll always be yours. Always."
It was a promise she intended on keeping.
Annabeth Chase stood up and painstakingly ambled away.
