Edward Pov.
I couldn't even stand her scent before we got to the cafeteria. Jasper had been willing me to go home with him seeing as we'd both been without blood for weeks but one little girl wasn't going to ruin my life… was she? He made one last attempt grabbing me from behind and dragging me into the shadows.
"This is useless, it's driving us both crazy, now." He whispered into my ear while pressing himself against me.
I pushed Jasper away and ran for the door so he wouldn't have a chance to do that again. I was determined to not lose the bet I'd made with Emmett. Before I could open the door though he reached out and pushed it open for me then ushered me in. He stayed behind me but rather close, almost looming, he got edgy when he didn't go hunting. But no one bothered to turn around when we came in anymore but they still thought about it. I took a b-line to the rest of our family, perhaps the only ones who were use to it by but not before sneaking a glance at the new girl.
Surprisingly she looked well… like one of us. Pale as snow, almost like a porcelain doll. Her hair was long and brown and matched her eyes. She sat over with the nagging clone girls which were surrounded by all the jocks as usual. Every one of them had there attention focused on her other then a few girls who'd obviously noticed our entry. All there thoughts were clear but hers. God was she making this irritating.
"Forget her." Jasper whispered as we sat down, twitching his head in Alice's direction.
"You truly are obsessed with that those manga books now aren't you? I introduced you to keep you occupied but recently you've done nothing but read." I sighed and took a look at the cover "What the-"
She threw her hand over her mouth before I could say anything. She was reading honest to god Yaoi, nothing sweet at the least. It disturbed me more knowing what actually went on in those books. Some were so graphic I was surprised anyone could stare at it so long.
But she quickly covered up the incident "The new girls walking over this way. What a scene! You wouldn't want to scare her off." Lucky for her no one else in town could read Japanese.
Everyone's eyes watched Bella, the new girl, as she walked to our side of the cafeteria. She smiled brightly when she was me watching. Only inches away she threw a folded piece of paper in my direction and walked on, her arm brushing my back as she went by. I then realized my mouth had dropped open, I quickly shut it, hoping not to many had noticed, and looked pleadingly at Jasper not to freak out.
The note sitting on the table in front of me had opened slightly to reveal a phone number, Bella's no doubt. I searched through the minds around us for a reason but they were as surprised as I was. No one ever came close to us and that's how our family was able to live among humans.
Sadly Jasper wasn't having his best day; he let out a low growl. Alice gave me a reassuring nod and guided Jasper out the doors. He was too young to go with ought blood so long.
"Obviously someone didn't get the memo" Emmett burst into laughter.
Rosalie scolded him. "It's probably just a sick joke"
I shook my head in disagreement. No one had told her anything, until now at least. But Bella didn't respond to any of them. She quickly exited the area, a couple boys following her looking awe stuck.
