AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is my first story and I don't know the Indian language they speak in the movie so I'm just going to write in English. I know it takes away from the story but I'll do my best. I'm sorry but I just don't know the language. Please give me some feedback to let me know if it's good.

Jaguar Paw feels the cold of the day's morning.

He sits still at the campfire... thinking. He thinks about his son, Turtle's Run. He thinks about his wife, Seven. He also thinks about his father, Flint Sky, who has now gone on to be with the elders. He thinks about all his friends, Shunted, Curl Nose, Cocoa Leaf, Smoke Frog and how they all died and some even had their hearts ripped out and stuff.

Turtle's Run comes up, looking all dirty and says, "Dad, what are you thinking about?"

Jaguar Paw is momentarily silent and replies, "Just about my friends who died, some with their hearts ripped out."

They share a moment of silence. He's told his son this before so it's not like he was shocked or anything but they were both still sad about it.

It's been almost 5 years since he escaped and the White Man has started to take over his Indian brethren. Turtle's Run is now 16 and his mother and father nearly 50.

They all sit together, apart from the world in their little hut, eating dinner. They talk about the day but you can tell it's getting boring. Turtle's Run thinks to himself, "Man, this sure is getting boring, talking about the same stuff every day, oh great, dad caught a pig again or something." He longs for adventure. He needs to experience the world outside of their little hut.

All of the sudden!! There are flames flickering just outside of their clearing. They wonder what it is when a woman steps forward. It's the girl who took all of the children when the people of the village were captured. The children soon follow her into the clearing. They are all grown now, some in their late 20's and they look all rough. They've been struggling to scratch out a living of their own. No one to show them the ropes of hunting and making little huts and stuff.

Jaguar Paw steps forward, now an old man and says, "What are you doing here?"

The woman then replies, "We just saw your campfire passing through and wanted to see who was living over here. We're on our way to find a new place to live. The jungle gives much, but not enough." Just then Jaguar Paw sees she has a baby in her arms and thinks to himself, "Oh."

Turtles Run sees that a few of them are hurt, bleeding from the eyes and face. He starts to ask but just figures why should he? The other people walk off into the distance and fade away. They all think to themselves it sure would have been nice to have some company but I guess they'd better be on their way.

They all eat dinner silently and just look at each other. Turtle's Run throws down his bread and storms out all mad. His mother, Seven, follows him. Jaguar Paw just keeps on chewing, looking down at the floor of the hut, which is just dirt.

Seven asks what is wrong with Turtle's Run? He screams at her, "I NEED ADVENTURE. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE A MAN." She understands and says it's ok and sends him to go with the group they saw earlier. He walks away and fades away.

Jaguar Paw asks why she let him go? She tells him that he needs to be free and they both finish up supper and go to bed.
