It would be most humiliating if I, Mukuro, one of the greatest fighters in the Makai, was brought down by human words. I have more dignity than that. In every sense of the word, I don't care about what you people think about me. I couldn't care less. The more you try to degrade me, the more pointless your insults are. If you haven't forgotten, I can kill you.
Perhaps you hate me because you think I "stole" Hiei away from you. How could I possibly steal something from you if you never possessed it to begin with? (For the count, our relationship is not of the mushy cheesy kind. That, too, leaves us with no shred of pride.)
Or maybe you think me ugly. Because, I suppose, you would be absolutely beautiful after being sold as a slave, chained up for a century or so, and then forced to fight for the remainder of your life. Did you expect someone who was raised in the Makai to be stunningly pretty? Demons in the Makai, after a few years of life, look to be quite the contrary. Beauty is not worth anything except death here; strength is everything.
You cannot hurt me, for the flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful of all. And that is what I am.
Story Notes: The quote "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful of all" was taken from Mulan. And if memory serves, hydrangeas mean "I am beautiful but heartless."
