Author's Note: Hey all! Welcome to my . . . technical first fanfiction. I gave up on my last one after realizing all the characters were flat little nobodies.
This is a very quick little intro, more of a teaser really, but I like it a lot. Don't worry, I'm already working on Chapter One. The chapters won't be this short, haha.
Anyway, very quickly, before you read on, please take a moment at the end of the chapter to review! Tell me anything. Tell me I lack description. Tell me my grammar's on point. Tell me this Author's Note is way too long. But I appreciate anything you tell me and I'll take it into account.
Without further ado . . .

"This is a bad idea," said Danie behind her.
"It's a brilliant one."
They stood in front of the library in silence, feeling the suspense lying hard on their shoulders. The archway loomed overhead. The gigantic marble walls, still with their art scribed on, gauged in forever, told them to turn back.
But it was much too late to turn back.
They didn't even have much of a choice anymore.
Maddening, goddamit.
Jain didn't want to do this to her library. But time pressed its hands on their backs and towards the flames.
"This is your fault," Danie reminded her.
She knew.
