Hello, folks! (folks...?)

Yes, I do know I have another story to work at and yes, I know I'm late yet again. But, hey! Merry Christmas!

I had this lying in my phone, so I said to myself why wouldn't I publish it? After all, it's not a crime to make holiday-themed stories, right~?

You can link this to the whole Good marks, bad marks cycle, if you want. If you do so, then this is happening somewhere in Sougo's 2nd year of high-school, hence... it's the 2Z universe again, guys! Funny how both my holiday-themed stories (the Halloween one and this) are part of the 2Z universe, right? *laughs*

Now, let's get to the story! Merry Christmas again, guys!

Disclaimer: May Santa Claus bring Sorachi as much inspiration as possible, so he'll keep up the good work. 'Cause I don't own Gintama!

Everyone deserve to be wished a Merry Christmas! on Christmas!

It was a nice weather outside, not too cold, yet not too hot either. Temperate was the perfect word. At least for winter, it was more than one could ask. Almost as if someone up there listened to his silent wish and magically avoided the usual chilly, middle-of-winter like weather.

Just what he wanted.

Sougo was drawn away from his thoughts by the feminine voice that was informing the passengers about the train's leaving hours.

He made his way toward the doors of the train, searching for a familiar figure in the queue of people that were trying to get out as fast as possible. Knitted hats, smiling reindeers with red noses on people's chests along with big or small snowflakes and cheerful colours. Knitted scarves fluttering behind those in a hurry. Everyone was in-match with the holiday atmosphere the city was diving in. From time to time one would see a classical business-man with a serviette, just to disappear as fast as he got spotted.

Yet, Sougo didn't feel the holidays spirit. His eyes kept on searching tirelessly. And searching and searching and searching...

And nothing.

She was nowhere to be seen.

He blinked. He felt a little hurt, but he didn't fret. After all, she could be at the end of that mass of people. Sougo let his head down. Yeah, she was probably waiting for the things to calm down at the door. He smiled to himself and, with that in mind, he watched patiently how the train emptied.

A blonde woman got out. He flinched, his heart skipping a beat. He took a step toward her…

She ran toward the exit, not looking at him, not even once.

He stood there, watching her slowly disappearing on the stairs. He listened how her heels echoed against the walls, his heart breaking little by little. When the sound finally faded, Sougo remained there, stoned, not knowing what to do next. The sudden lack of sound make the station seem cold.

He closed his eyes.

No one came after that woman. No one.

He sighed, a wave of sadness taking over him. Maybe he didn't deserve a "present" for Christmas. After all, he was a bad kid. He frowned. What pained him more was the fact that he'll have to hear her apologizing to him. He hated when she apologized in those situations. After all, it was all his fault that they were separated.

He shook his head. 'Maybe I'll just buy a ticket and go and visit her.' He thought as he turned on his heels...

"Merry Christmas, Sou-chan!" Mitsuba cheered.

His eyes widened.

She was holding out a small, red box with a big, green ribbon, bigger than the box itself. "I'm sorry I didn't announced you; Santa Claus came a little earlier this year." She said and smiled guiltily for making his staying in the cold.

He smiled, a genuine, loving smile appearing on his face. Then he started to laugh out of relief.

"Merry Christmas, Aneue!"
