It didn't take long for Emma to hear the quiet footsteps approaching her from behind. Tightening her grip on the handle of her sword, she turned around in one swift movement, the blade lifted in defense. Her mouth fell open a little at the sight of a familiar smirk.

"Hook." She breathed, squinting her eyes in annoyance.

"How?" A low chuckle fell from his lips as he moved a little closer.

"Now, now, darling - you mustn't underestimate me." Within in seconds he had pulled his own sword out, swinging it forcefully towards her. For a moment, all she heard was the sound of metal on metal as she barley blocked him.

"What are you doing?" She practically yelled, grinding the edge of her blade against his before pulling back.

"You bested me once, I won't allow you to do it again." Emma let out a small sigh before noticing a flicker of what looked to be disappointment in the man's sea blue eyes. He trailed the end of his sword against the ground before making his next move. Once it connected with Emma's, her lack of experience almost caused her to drop it. She rolled her shoulder back before going for his legs, but he jumped just in time. His teeth grazed his bottom lip as a wild grin appeared on his face.

"I've had years of practice you know." He said, his composure still intact and his movements never less than elegant. For Emma, it was quite the contrary. Her breathing was heavy, her arm already sore, and her movements sloppy, but she knew - for Henry's sake - she would never back down.

"I can tell." She blandly replied. "but that doesn't mean you'll win."

He lifted his eyebrows, as he blocked her next advance. "Oh?"

Emma's eyes met his, allowing a hint of a smile to appear. "Like you said before. I'm motivated." As their swords connected in the air, he paused for a moment.

"I like you." He said simply. "You've got charisma. Too bad you betrayed me." He whipped around quickly, swinging the sword hard enough to cause Emma's to fall from her grip. She looked down, and then back towards him, swallowing down the lump in her throat. The edge of his blade was cool as it rested against the side of her neck.

"I didn't betray you." She said, looking down. "Then what would you call it?" Unable to come up with an answer, she changed the course of the conversation.

"I didn't realize you'd hold a grudge." She countered.

"You put my life at risk." He replied. "One doesn't forget something like that."

An aggravated moan escaped her lips. "I told the giant not to hurt you!"

"And how did you know that he would listen?" He removed the sword from it's spot on her shoulder, and moved a little closer.

"Because I know when people are lying to me."

Laughing, he leaned forward. "Yet you couldn't tell with me."

She stared into his eyes, annoyed at the fact that he was correct. There were moments she was certain that he couldn't be trusted, but there were times she felt otherwise, and it was starting to get on her last nerve.
