Hello there! So, this was just something I came up with when this thing happened at school not too long ago. We cosplay from the Merlin series, which is why I got this crazy idea.
Well... Enjoy!
Arthur stood at the vending machine in the school cafeteria, stuffing coins in it so he could get his lunch consisting of a chocolate bar. Morgana had just joined Merlin and Guinevere at the table on the other side of the room. They were soon all laughing at something funny Morgana had said. Arthur, who had been watching his three friends, looked back at the vending machine. It was obvious that he was at least slightly impatient, waiting for the slow machine to let him choose his candy bar. The young man frowned when he realized that the machine had eaten one of his coins. He had already put all his money in it, but for some odd reason the display told him that he was missing a quarter. That could definitely not be true. Arthur knew that he had counted his money right, which meant that the vending machine had been the one to miscount his money. What a stupid, cheating machine! The man looked back at his friends, not knowing what else to do. It was obvious that he was trying to catch their eyes, silently asking if any of them had any money. He wasn't about to leave the machine, seeing as it still had his money in it, but he wouldn't just yell across the room. He would be drawing lots of unwanted attention that way. Luckily, Morgana happened to look over her shoulder and immediately saw that Arthur was in a bit of a pickle. "I think it seems like Arthur doesn't have enough money for his chocolate bar", she simply stated before she burst out laughing. Both Guinevere and Merlin soon joined in. Merlin almost fell down from his chair because he was laughing so hard. Arthur's expression was priceless. At first he had been really angry, but then he slowly let a small grin slip onto his face. Merlin got up, still laughing, and made his way through a crowd of people. "What's going on?" he asked as soon as he found himself standing beside Arthur, who was staring angrily at the vending machine. The man pointed at the vending machine "It ate my quarter!" he half-yelled, clearly upset. Merlin couldn't help but laugh at his friend. "Can't you press a button and get your money back?" It seemed simple enough. There was a big, black button on the machine, and Merlin simply guessed that the machine would spit out Arthur's beloved money if anyone pressed it. "No, it doesn't do that", the blonde answered grumpily while still glaring daggers at the machine. Actually he had been scared that he would not get any of his money back at all if he pressed the button. Merlin didn't know anything about Arthur's fear, though. He was simply wondering if he should ask his friend, if he had even tried pressing the button. However, he wanted to get back to the table so that he could finish his lunch, which was why he simply reached out and pushed the button, not seeing Arthur's horrified expression.
'Clang.'
Merlin grinned at Arthur, who looked absolutely furious by now. If looks could kill, both Merlin and the vending machine would have been dead for sure. The raven haired boy couldn't help but laugh, though, as he simply turned around and walked back to their table without saying a single word. Arthur was left alone at the machine, staring angrily at the back of Merlin's head. He decided that simply glaring at Merlin wouldn't do him much good, so he decided to pick up his money and have another go at getting his chocolate bar.
