The ending of this really bothered me. I mean, what is Rose's problem?
They were freezing in the ice cold water. The supposedly unsinkable ship of dreams had sunk. There was no hope, yet they clung to it anyways. Jack helped Rose onto a piece of the wreckage, nobly staying in. There was no room for two. "Live a happy life Rose. Have lots of kids. I love you," he said weakly.
"You'd die for me?" she asks pathetically.
He nods. It would take too much energy too respond. Then a voice booms form nowhere. Call it fate, or call it common sense but it wasn't having any of this. "This is the wreckage of the largest ship in the world," it says in a bland voice, "Certainly there must be one piece of wreckage for Jack to climb on. Don't die for love. It doesn't get the girls. Because then you're dead."
The pair was bewildered for a second. "Um… What was that about?" Jack asks.
'No idea. Hey, since you're quite clearly dying, how about I make some room? That way you don't die needlessly, and I don't mope for the rest of my life!" Rose says excitedly.
After a bit of struggling, they both are quite comfortable on the piece of wood. "The rescue boat is coming! Thanks for making room. I mean, how stupid would it have been if you were a greedy pig and I a self-sacrificing fool? Thank god that we survived," Jack declared.
