In the New World, there resides a small island.
Upon this island, lays only one small temple, home to the greatest swordsman of the world.
In his prime, he held strength unmatched by any opponent. His swords, of his own craft, were said to slice through even diamond. He would have become a world leader, but life took a different turn. He fell in love. The great swordsman then retried at a young age to live with his wife on a tiny island.
One day, the swordsman was away from the island with his wife. They returned to find the town destroyed, and nobody but a young boy was left alive. They took the boy with them to their home in the woods. Watching his adoptive son grow, the swordsman realized that he needed to pass on his skills.
He began to teach his son the art of swordsmanship, but child was reluctant to learn. It was a sword that had slain his parents. So the master began to except only the most skilled swordsmen already, so he could teach them more.
Years passed, and his son had left. Over this time he had taught only five young men. One day, his son returned, with child like himself, who had seen the hardest of times.
Upon his son's request, he trained that child.
Now, on his death bed, his proteges return, one by one, to pay their respects to their master.
Some were surprised to see who else was trained under the same master. Others were silent.
"My children," the master mumbled. His students sat around him, awaiting his word. "I have trained you all to be the best. And so, I award you all, with the title of the Swordsmen of the Sea."
Not much was said. Each student paid their respects at their master passed away. Everyone knew that many years ago he had already passed on his title of the greatest to Dracule Mihawk. Said man observed each of his fellow students. His master said he had trained seven, seven swordsmen. Only five, including himself, where there. Through the words of the others, he had learned that one of the first, Dan, had passed away from an illness. And another one, Tok, died from drinking himself to death. Other than that, there was a fishman, the master's adoptive son, a boy who looked much to young to be there, and a figure completely cloaked. The figure was interesting, but didn't stay long as they left.
He followed them, and was surprised to see who was underneath that cloak.
So this is another One Piece (gets stabbed in eye) AHHHHH I'm sorry! I can't help it. Once I get an idea I got to do it.
Besides, this one is going to follow an original plot line... as you can tell. Ummmmmmmm
I'm kinda stupid and want to put main story to take place after the time skip... BUT I'M NOT THAT FAR IN ONE PIECE!
The only real problem is getting characters like Brook and Franky in character (oops spoiler, they'll be in here...)
But for the most part, it's a Zoro story and yeah, and maybe some Shanks cuz I can. Plus i dont know anything really about the new world, i looked it up and stuff. yeah.
Shanks was going to be apart of the seven swordsmen but then I thought during the time Mihawk would train, Shanks is putting together his crew so eh.
The swordsmen are a little bit above power of the Shichibukai but no where near the Yonko. Mihawk, who is in both, was seen as the leader of the swordsmen for a time, before everyone disappeared into parts of the Great Blue. So over a couple of years, the swordsmen have lost influence and are eventually forgotten.
Please comment... i'll love you... and yeah.
