Summary:

Well this story takes place three years after Lucy's death. Everyone remembers Lucy Knight.

COOK COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL...

Someone was hanging a picture in the ER hallway.

It was picture of Lucy Knight.

Lucy Knight had been Dr. John Carter's med student, until she was killed three years ago today…

It had been February 14, 2001.

Sit down and I'll tell you a little about what happened.

It was February 14, 1999. Lucy was waiting to talk to Dr. John Carter about one of their patients.

When the patient she was going to talk to Dr. Carter about stabbed her.

(I'm not going to say who it was.)

Under the picture was a sort of note. Here is what it said:

This was medical student Lucy Knight. She was stabbed. In spite of her co-workers best efforts to save her, She died of she died of multiple stab wounds to the neck, chest and stomach.

Dr. Robert Romano did not want to give up on her.

Lucy died in the early morning hours of February 15, 1999 at 02:56 (2:56 AM).

John Carter stood there staring at the picture of Lucy.

He remembered what the Valentine's Day Card had said.

TO: John Carter

I love you.

Love Lucy

He stared at the picture and said the words he had never gotten to say to her before she died.

"I love you Lucy Knight. I always have and always will love you." John Carter whispered as tears slipped down his face.

"Are you all right, John?" Someone asked from behind him.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just miss her so much." He responded.

"We all miss her." Said Dr. Kerry Weaver as everyone who had known Lucy gathered around the picture.

Other who had known Lucy cried as well...

"I loved Lucy." Carter confessed.

"It was really no secret you loved her." Jerry told John.

No one could see her or even had any idea she there, but Lucy smiled standing by the admissions desk.

"I love you to, John Carter." Lucy whispered as she faded away.

John Carter must have in some way heard her, because he smiled.

She was on her way to be a great doctor, though she had made many mistakes like:

One time she did a pelvic exam on a drag queen and forgot to grease the glove. Carter had to help her get her hand back.

There were plenty of other mistakes Lucy made, but I think that was the most memorable.
