Disclaimers: I don't own any of the characters of The Magnificent Seven wish I did but since I don't I'll just play with them all other characters are mine and characters that have been created by friend of mine. The Magnificent Seven is a program based on the five-movie series (but mostly the first two) from the 60s and 70s, which was in turn based on the 1954 Japanese film "Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa. The Magnificent Seven was cancelled by CBS after the 1997-1998 season, but was later renewed thanks to a large internet campaign to save the show
Ezra L. Tanner
Ezra was two days out of San Francisco when he mailed the goodbye letters he had written to the few people in four-corners that he considered friends. He had changed his name when he bought the train ticket in eagle bend then only taken the train as far as Denver and then gave his ticket to a young woman with a small child. He knew that J.D. and or Vin would come looking for him when they realized that he was not coming back for the errand that Judge Travis had sent him on what they did not know was that the errand was not real. Ezra wired Judge Travis to ask him to send him on a job for him saying he would explain when he arrived at the Judge's home in two weeks time. By this point Ezra knew that he was only eight or nine hours out side of San Francisco so he pushed his horse at this rate they would make it by morning.
Two week later and just two hours past dawn Ezra tied his horse in back of the Travis's house and knocked on the kitchen door. Mrs. Travis opened the door and ushered him into the house and to a seat at the table where she was fixing breakfast she poured Ezra a cup of coffee and set him to work rolling out biscuits for the morning breakfast. As they worked the story of what happened in four corners poured out of him. By the time the food was done and on the table Evie Travis knew everything there was to know all of it, who, the what, the when, the where, and the why of the whole sorted mess. To say the least she was not happy about the situation at all by the time they had finished their meal Evie had Ezra agreeing to stay with here for a few days until he decided what he wanted to do she even helped him with his new name and identity papers. It was a good thing she was married to the judge if for no other reason that to keep her out of trouble.
With in five days he had gone from Ezra P. Standish to Ezra L. Tanner. After that it was only a matter of a week or two before he was the proud owner of 1900 acres less than 30 miles out side of the city. Yes here he could start a whole new life and with luck and time forget what had happened in four-corners.
