Rose couldn't believe it, after all this time of trying to find The Doctor, her Doctor, he didn't want her back. He was going to leave her after all, after all they've been through. "I'm not going back." She told him firmly. "You can't make me." She said as The Doctor took a deep breath and took a step towards her.
"Rose," he began as he took ahold of her hand and interlaced her fingers while gazing deeply into her eyes. "listen to me." He told her softly.
"No," she began with a shake of her head. "I want you to listen to me first. I told you that I loved you, doesn't that mean anything to you!?" she cried.
"Of course it does." He told her.
"Then why are you leaving me, it doesn't make any sense." She told him.
"I already told you, I'm a time lord and I regenerate." He told her before gesturing back at his double with a nod of his head. "You deserve to be with someone who always stays the same. He can give you the life that you always wanted." He explained. "That's something that I can never do, no matter how badly I want it." He told her.
"But I already told you, he's not you!" she yelled.
"And I already told you that he needs you." He said.
"And I already told you that I don't care and that you're the one I want to be with because I need you!" she hollered as she suddenly felt tears coming to her eyes and streaming down her cheeks.
"Rose, please try and calm down." He told her fighting the sudden urge to pull her inside his arms and hold her tightly.
"Alright, I will if you answer me this. When I was standing here the last time we saw each other on the worst day of my life, what was the last thing that you said to me?" she asked him. "Go on, say it." She told him as The Doctor grew silent for a moment.
"I said Rose Tyler," he responded.
"Yeah I know that but then we got cut off, what was the end of that sentence going to be?" she questioned when all of a sudden he placed a tender hand upon her cheek and rested it there as he continued to gaze into her eyes.
"Does it need saying?" he asked her.
"Yes, it really does." She told him with a nod.
"Alright then, I love you too. I've always had right from the moment we met. That's why I have to protect you and do what's best for you." He told her.
"But Doctor, you're what's best for me. Please don't go, I mean we've been through so much together. If you really love me take me with you. I don't care where we go, Paris, Rome, Mars, it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me or whoever we bring with us." Rose told him with a shake of her head as she glanced over at Donna. "As long as I'm with you." She said as he grinned at her.
"Rose Tyler, defender of the earth, always putting others before herself." He said.
"So, does that mean that you'll take me with you?" she asked him eagerly.
"Yes, on one condition." He began before he removed a ring out of his pocket and slid it onto her finger. "Only if you marry me and become my wife. You see, once you marry a time lord you grow an extra heart. You can't regenerate or anything like that but you do get an extra-long life and get possible healing powers." He explained.
"Some help you are, you could have told her all that before!" Jackie snapped.
"Yes I know but I wasn't sure if she was ready for that. So what do you say, marry me?" he asked her as Rose just simply grinned at him.
"Come here you stupid ape." She told him as he grinned back at her and the two of them wrapped their arms around each other and kissed each other passionately.
