Disclaimer: I don't *cries*OWN PRINCE OF TENNIS
Something was off, Sakuno thought as she watched Ryoma stumble out of the court, his glossy hair gleaming with sweat. His eyes flickered back and forth, looking eerily guilty, until they fell on Sakuno. Her playfully eyes twinkled and her black braids swished with every move. Ryoma sighed, knowing this wouldn't be easy.
"Hey, Ryoma-kun," She purred, unknowingly seducing Ryoma. "You seem, strange, today; is there anything wrong?" Sakuno tucked back a one of his damp locks behind his ear, smiling as his blush reached up to it.
He swallowed his pride, and for this once, wished with all his hear that he had the courage to ask her out.
"Um, you don't have to...uh...add the 'kun' suffix to the end of...my...name," Ryoma choked, thankful that he was leaning on his racket.
"Okay then, Ryoma," She continued. "What's wrong?"
"Sakuno, there's something I need...to tell you...about my...tournament."
"Yes?"
"Uh...It's...um...in...America."
"Oh," Sakuno sighed, sadness lacing her voice. "I hope you have...um...fun." Ryoma though it was his eyes playing tricks on him, but he could of sworn that he saw her try to blink away a tear.
"It's going to um...be the same...except..."
"Except what?"
"I'll have someone too miss, because...I love...her."
"Oh," The sixteen-year-old bit her lip, clenched her fists, and tried to stop the jealously that consumed her. "Well, that person's lucky to have someone...as...great...as..you," Sakuno whimpered.
"Sakuno-"
"Go! I mean...you need to pack...for America...so go." She pushed him away.
"Sakuno-" He whispered, snatching her hand before she could slink away.
"Let go!" She yelled, fear hinting in her voice. "Let me go!"
"I'm not letting go the only person I love!" Ryoma yelled blindly. After realizing what he'd said, a rose-tint colored his cheek faster than Ryoma's speed shot.
"I mean...uh..."
"Is...is that true?" Sakuno asked, looking away.
Ryoma nodded.
"If that's the case," She stuttered. "Then...I'll need to...give you...a...going away gift."
Ryoma paused for a moment, then felt tender yet sturdy arms fling around his shoulders. He toppled onto the cool grass, then realized that Sakuno was laying on top of him, smiling her cheery smile. The professional tennis player blinked, just before feeling the warmth of Sakuno's lips press against his. Although it was chaste, Ryoma lusted for more as she broke the kiss. He opened his mouth, but she interrupted.
"You'll get more when you come back," Sakuno giggled as she skipped away, leaving the awe-struck boy on the ground.
