Disclaimer: I don't Lightning, Cloud or any other Final Fantasy characters
Author Note: I know that this story might not be great to all of you, but after my first tragic story "First Dance." I thought that another tragic story with the same pairing would be nice.
Pairing: Cloud/Lightning (Main), Some Noctis/Lightning Friendship only)
It was sometime around late September in Autumn and dead leaves covered the ground as people stood gathered in a cemetery at what was supposed to be a normally happy time of the day, but it was anything but that. The people wore black and almost all most of them with looks of mourning and sadness. Standing away from the crowd was a certain individual, her bright blue eyes holding deep sadness and guilt. Noctis walked up to her silently and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"You gonna be alright Light?" Noctis asked. Lightning shook her head sadly.
"I never got to tell him how I felt about him; I never thought this was going to happen at all." Lightning said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"None of us expected this to happen either, but he wouldn't want you to be like this at all you know, he would want you to be happy for the rest of your life." Noctis said.
Lightning only nodded. She in felt at a loss for words. So she hugged Noctis for a moment before walking slowly towards the open. Noctis stopped her by putting a hand gently on her shoulder, looking directly at her beautiful face. In the bright sun of the afternoon, hot tears had already streamed down her face and she had to fight back the urge to cry just at the sight of the casket.
"Lightning, I just want to let you know, no matter what we'll always consider you a part of our family." he said softly.
"Thank you Noct, you don't understand how much that means a lot to me." Lightning said quietly.
Noctis pulled Lightning into a hug as she started to cry, the tears running down her face, as she prevented herself from collapsing. Lightning hugged Noctis back and the two of them just stood there for a minute or two before pulling away and looked at each other. Lightning smiled at Noctis.
"He really, truly loved you, you were all he ever talked about." he said with a smile on his face.
He then put a hand in the pocket of his jacket and pulled out a simple, but elegant diamond ring. Noctis sighed, shaking his head and placing a hand on Lightning's shoulder and hugged her once again, then he pulled away to look at her.
"He was going to propose to you when he got back, this is the ring, I thought you might want it now, since he's gone," he said, handing it to Lightning.
"Thank you Noct," she said quietly, pocketing the ring.
Once the crowd had left and all the goodbye's had been made, Lightning walked up slowly to the casket. She looked down at his pale, but angelic face and gently stroked his cheek with one of her hands. She leaned down and kissed him on his pale, cold, but beautiful lips.
"I love you Cloud, I really love you" Lightning whispered, the tears falling freely down her face.
Please read and review, or the Cloud plushie gets it. (Holds flaming torch and waving it in front of its face.)
