Prologue:

Blood slowly dripped down, pooling at her knees as she looked up at the heavens praying for redemption. There was none to be found. Blood drenched fingers clawed at their owners throat as she tried desperately to scream for help.

Cold, merciless eyes invaded his vision as she drank in fully, for the first time, the face that claimed her life without a shred of regret or remorse.

"Shh. It'll all be over soon. Look up, do you see the stars? Aren't they beautiful, just breathe the pain will go soon and you'll never have to worry about anything ever again," the detached voice whispered looking down at her with such troubled eyes. That voice, almost angelic in its aching beauty, rivalled only by the indescribable ethereal face connected to it was filled will such sorrow that made her want to throw himself at this otherworldly creatures feet and do anything to stop the look of utter hopelessness.

"I saved you. I have saved you from your sins and now you can rest as you have compensated for them with the final gift one can give. That is the gift of death but not many appreciate its beauty. Smile, for now you have peace," the bittersweet voice said as a small smile graced his face. His movements were languid and tranquil reminding him of the ocean with the same hidden deadliness under it surface.

Tears escape her eyes as she felt peace in his final moment. The corner of her lips upturned in a final smile, barely there but proving that she was at rest in his last moments despite the horrific circumstances leading up to her death in the end she chose to smile just so beautiful creature about her wouldn't feel any pain over her death.

In her final breath, her eyes never leaving the man above her, she let go and fell into the deepest sleep of them all, death.

The man stood, an eerie smile on his face and he looked down on the body of his victim. He felt no regrets only acceptance that he had rid the world of just one of the countless criminal that sully it's streets. He bent down and caressed the side of the still warm corpses face with his gloved hand and dipped two fingers into the pool of blood surrounding the body like a wreath.

Words appeared on the ground in blood red as the man wrote a message.

'Her golden blood is worth as much as any man. Her crimes are uncovered and possession after all, is nine tenths of the law.'
