Greetings, fellow earthlings!

A very short one shot. Set sometime around 10x24 after Amy went to Princeton minus the whole Ramona thing. Might be OOC.

Sadly, I do not own The Big Bang Theory nor its characters otherwise we have seen more action of Shamy on that bed other than sleeping and talking.

Sheldon has been tossed and turned on the bed for almost an hour but sleep seems to elude him. He has the bed for himself that night, and for the next three months while Amy is on a summer fellowship research at Princeton.

He thinks that he should have a good quality of sleep. No more waking up in the middle of the night freezing now that Amy will not be hogging the blanket. No more ticklish feeling on his neck now that Amy will not breath on him when he sleeps.

As he lays on his bed, he realizes that those little things which often annoy him are the things he misses the most from Amy. He might have complained to Penny once that Amy breathes on him when they are sleeping, but he did not tell her that having Amy's breath on her neck while ticklish is also pleasant. Her close proximity to him when they are sleeping makes him feel warm and he often does not mind if she hogs the blanket, that posterior of hers sure makes any man feels warm.

Sheldon looks at his watch, it is already way past midnight in New Jersey. Amy must be asleep. It will be rude to call her, and tell her what? That he cannot sleep? That he misses her? That he wishes Amy were there so that they can snuggle?

He can text her though, Amy will probably read it tomorrow but maybe it will at least put his mind to ease.

He grabs his phone from his bedside.

Amy, are you asleep? – Sheldon

Sheldon rolls his eyes. That such a ridiculous attempt at texting. He put his phone back on the table, not expecting to get a reply. He is surprised when his phone pings not long after.

Sheldon, it's past your bedtime. Shouldn't you be asleep by now? – Amy

Look who's talking. It's in the middle of the night there, shouldn't be you asleep by now? – Sheldon

I can't sleep. – Amy

Hmm, interesting. Me too. Do you have any idea why? – Sheldon

Probably because it's the new place and I miss my snuggle bunny ;) – Amy

Really, Amy? I'm already having trouble to sleep and this constant sexting is not helping. – Sheldon

His phone suddenly rings. Amy.

He slides the screen to answer the call and before he can say anything, Amy cut him. "You do realize that emoticon is not sexting, right? Well, not always."

"Well, hello to you, too," he says.

She sighs. "So, what's troubling you?"

Sheldon considers giving other reasons like still thinking about the equations from work or there is a suspicious sound from the kitchen, but he decides to tell her the truth. "Probably because I've been accustomed to sleep with you, now having the bed for myself feels strange."

"Does that mean you'll be okay sleeping on the same bed with, say, Leonard?"

"Leonard? Didn't you hear yourself woman? The lack of sleep clearly has messed your brain."

"So, is that a yes?"

"Amy! Of course not. I can only share a bed with you. Only you."

Sheldon hears Amy giggles on the phone. "Oh, you did that on purpose, didn't you? You vixen," he says smiling.

"You know, Sheldon, you can be pretty romantic sometimes."

"I know. What have you done to me, Amy?" he says softly then yawns. "I'm starting to get a little sleepy."

"Me too."

"I guess we should go to sleep."

"Seconded."

"Amy, if tomorrow we both still have trouble sleeping, can I call you again?"

"Of course, Sheldon."

"Very well. Good night, Amy."

"Night, Sheldon."

They both fall asleep right after they end the call.

Thank you for reading.
