I do not own InuYasha or any of the characters created by Rumiko Takahashi
Spring Fever
InuYasha and Kagome sat under the tree near their garden. The wind in the leaves sighed as the branches swayed in its caress. Blossom time was over, but the ground and the trees were still touched with that newness that only comes in spring. Kagome, her sleeves tied back and the top of her head covered with a scarf, rested her head against her husband's shoulder, watching the dappled patterns of shadow and light move across the ground. InuYasha shifted a little, moving his sleeping son, almost a year old, in his lap.
"I need to get back to the gardening," Kagome murmured. "But I'd rather stay here."
InuYasha's arm snugged around her and pulled her close. "Then don't go," he said. "Take a nap with me and Atae."
"But if I don't plant the garden, there won't be any pickles." She brushed her fingers idly over her son's silver hair.
"You have a point," he replied, resting his cheek on the top of her hair.
"I could take a nap, and plant the garden later," she mused.
"Sounds like a plan to me," said the hanyou.
"Me, too." Snuggling up a little closer to her husband, she let the wind and the gentle touch of his hand stroking her arm lull her to sleep.
