Disclaimer: I don't own snot shit in this story besides Emily, Emma-chan (me) and the BTS cuts. Those are my ideas.

And Fiona Is my bae. I've already claimed that bitch.

Emily's P. O. V.

I had always been a quick thinker, one to use my head to get out of a tight situation, instead of my other methods, which included some pretty bad things. I perfered to use my thinking.

And my quick thinking would be the death of me.

At least, I thought it would.

But then I met Rhys.

"Emily, hey, Emily. You okay?" Said man asked me. He had stopped walking, and turned to face me, noticing that I hadn't been listening to him.

We were walking to the video game store, for a new game for Rhys' PS4. Again. He already had most of the ones made, but I promised him that he could get the one that I hadn't had enough money last month to buy him. And somehow, I always got suckered into buying his games, at least one twenty five dollar game a month. And that was because I made more money than he did. The lazy bastard.

This time, he was guilting me into buying Skyrim the Legendary edition. And a new controller for myself. He always begged me to play with him, mostly Call of Duty, or Grand Theft Auto. Which I gave in to, because of I refused, he gave me his puppy dog look. And it was so cute.

"Huh? Yeah. I'm okay. Sorry, Rhys. I guess that I havn't been getting a lot of sleep lately. I'm just tired, I promise." I told my best friend. It was a lie, I was deep in thought, like always.

I remember when we met, the rain beating down relentlessly and drenching me as I walked home from work. I knew that I should've taken an umbrella, the forecast had said to, but I was lazy. Oh so lazy... My car was in the shop getting a ding from an idiot out of it, and that left me walking for an hour home each day. Today wasn't really the best day to not have a motor vehicle.

With the rain pelting me, I was hella cold and my clothes were clinging to my back and small frame. I couldn't see anything more than five feet away, and my hair matted to my neck the same way my shirt was to my back. I walked for half an hour before the first wet sneeze came. Shit. I was getting sick.

I pushed on as the rain somehow got even worse, and I must've took a wrong turn somewhere because now I was in an unfamilliar neighborhood. It had been at least another hour since the first sneeze, and many more followed. I thought about going into a store, but to be honest, I didn't know where one was...

I took a deep breath, but my shoulders shook uncontrollably with a shiver. Oh god... I'm freezing... I pull my jacket around my shoulders tighter, though it's drenched and it's not really helping.

The rain is blinding, and my (e/c) eyes are blurred as I stumble forward. God, how long have I been out here? An hour? Two? It's just so cold out here, the winter weather making me woozy and shaky.

I stop at the corner of another street. It's just too bad to go on. Doesn't this only happen in animes and low class fanfictions?

Oh sweet Jesus... I can't see anything through the heavy rain. I can barely tell that I'm near a street sign. I sneeze and cough, wiping my nose on my drenched sleeve. I'm getting sick. I can tell that hypothermia is starting to kick in. I needed to get home soon, or I'd be too sick to go to work tomorrow at the mechanic shop. And I was so close to completing my latest project.

My eyes drooped, crap, I was getting tired. I tried desperately to keep them open, but they closed, and my shoulders rolled back. My figure fell backwards, my back hitting the wet, muddy grass and my head on the pavemented curb next to the yard I assumed I was laying on. I groaned in annoyance as mud smeared in my hair and on the back of my head, my eyes fluttering closed over my single blurred eye. Within moments, I was sound asleep, my lips turning blue and my whole body shaking insistantly.

~~~Timeskip
Somewhere between two to four hours later~~~
My own figure hacking and coughing woke me up, and my eyes fluttered open, one still blurred. Glancing around, I notice that in the dark room I'm in, the furniture is different from my usual neat surroundings.
Looking to my left as the bed shifts, there's a figure moving around under the sheets. There had been a man sleeping next to me and his arms had been around me protectively, a coolness spreading across my back. And that was weird, because the coolness wasn't skin, it was metal.
As soon as I hit the hardwood floor of a bedroom once again not my own, I saw the bed shift slightly, and the man rounding the matress to get to where I sat on the floor.
"Are you okay?! Does it hurt?" He asked in a voice that was so very cute, music to my ears.
"N-no. I'm okay, I just g-got startled when I woke up. Sorry." I apologized.
"Hey, that's okay. I'm Rhys, by the way." He told me, helping me back up and sitting me on the bed before doing so himself.
"Nice to meet you, Rhys. I'm Emily. I- uh, why exactly am I here...?"
"I helped you in the alley, remember? I pulled that guy off of you and I brought you back here to rejuvenate, basically." He replied, running his hand- no, wait not a normal arm, a metal one- through his messy, adorable hair.
"Your arm is metal?! What is it?!" I asked hurriedly, clearly interested in the mechanical engineering and care put into making the yellow prosthetic limb.
"Oh, yeah. It is a type of metal, but... it doesn't matter right now. I should get you home before your parents wonder where you are." Rhys said, waving off my question.
My parents? I lived alone, not with Mom and Dad. He actually thought I was a teenager? Well I was, but I was almost twenty. In a year. My birthday had been a few days earlier.
"I live alone. I'm nineteen, for chrissakes." I snapped.
"Wait, your nineteen? I thought you were fifteen!" He said, truly shocked.
The nerve of this guy! I know that I'm a little underdeveloped, but I am not a child.
"No, I'm not fifteen! That is so rude! Rhys, I think you might be an idiot!" I told him.
"Hey! I am not!" He said defensively.
I rolled my eyes. "It was a joke, Rhys. Take one."
He turned slightly red from embarrassment.
"Yeah, yeah." He said, pouting. His pout is so cute! Ugg, what the hell am I saying? I just met him, and I'm already falling for his looks. Jeez, Emily, what the hell is wrong with you?
"Hey, Emily, are you okay? I can take you home if you want."
A voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I was dazed again. Again.
"No, no, Rhys. Please, I just... I'm thinking." I gave in.
"Thinking? That's pretty uncommon for you." Rhys joked.
"Hey! I think all of the time! Like how I'm gonna murder you in your sleep..." I laughed.
"Okay, but what are you really thinking about?" Rhys asked, pulling at my hand and ignoring my jokes and attempt at changing the subject. Well, hell.
"Us." I answered blatantly.
A few seconds of akward silence passed before I felt my face heat up and tried to clarify better.
"I- uhh, I mean when we met. Ya know, in that alleyway." I said quickly, noticing Rhys let a deep breath out like he was nervous or something.
"Well, then let's keep on going. I wanna get to the store before I turn eighty." Rhys said, releasing my hand from his, and walking several paces ahead of me.
I tried to catch up, jumping on his back. He barely caught me, stumbling a little before he regained his balance. I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck, a sort of hugging, I guess.
I really can't help myself when it comes to being all 'cuddly' with Rhys. He's so much taller than I am, and so warm, despite his slender frame. He always laughs it off and puts his arms around me, holding me tight.
It was my favorite thing in the whole wide world.
That was probably the last normal day either of us ever saw. I don't know how it all happened, but... after that day... it all changed. It changed, and something went wrong.
My friend with one brown and one blue eye became corrupted. Or maybe he was gone when I met him. I don't know for sure.
Everything turned into a shit show, and I didn't know what to do.
Then we had to move to Pandora. Home of the Crimson Raiders, and planet of Hyperion.
