A/N : Berlitz gave Diamond a Mamoswine in chapter 411, right. This fic was based upon that.

"I said, it's okay!"
He retorted for the third time of the day. Pearl sighed upon the sight in front of him—Platina who was still refusing to look up, frowning with both hands clasped in front of her. Her gaze was sympathetic, which he could understand why. Earlier, the girl had given Diamond a quite nice present which was a pokemon-stuffed Pokeball, but nothing for Pearl. Thus she kept apologizing for this matter until now.
In fact, Pearl thought nothing of this present business. So she brought something for Diamond, then what? Like he said, he already had a full-team and just knowing that his dear little miss had conquered every gym of Sinnoh with her own strength had made him the happiest person in the world. He was never raised to be a liar (his father had always been an honest man)—although if there was an exception, that was when he hid the fact of the whole bodyguard issue from Platina. He still remembered how big his regret was upon seeing her ran away from Diamond and him. Time had shifted, she had smiled again and he was glad for it. But now, her solemn face didn't please him a tiniest bit.
"No, it was very unwise of me to decide on not giving you anything, Pearl." she spoke in a low tone, eyes gazing sideways. Before he had a chance to reply, she added more, "But as a matter of fact, I have a reason."
He twitched his eyebrows, left eyelid slightly dropped. "… And what is that?"
Finally, she looked up to him. "It was because there was no Pokemon which resembled you."
"… What?"
Platina coughed to her fist and straightened her back before continuing, "Yes, there was none. There was no Pokemon which looked very vicious but was very big-hearted inside. There was no Pokemon which protected its friend. There was no Pokemon which was brave enough to tackle any obstacle that it has found. And there was no Pokemon which could make its friends comfortable with its caring, reassuring, and devoted personality. Hence, I decided to not give you anything rather than being dishonest to myself."
He froze, staring at her with eyes wide.
(Is that what she thought of him, all this time?)
She huffed, probably feeling relieved after letting the truth out. "… What's wrong? Are you still angry?"
She noted about his face, which was now colored with a deep shade of red—his slightly-tanned skin made the shade looked more like a color of ponceau orange. "No, I—" Pearl cut in to resist, but he was unable to say anything. What he felt was nothing like anger—in fact, he was too happy to say anything, even a small 'thank you' which he really wanted to say right now.
"Then, I take it you have forgiven me." Platina was oblivious.
He struggled hard to let out a word, but his lips refused to move. Thus, he gave up and made a small nod.
She then flashed a smile—a very bright one, and Pearl couldn't help but smile too.
(Though he still wished he could cover his face with something.)
A/N: Conclusion: I suck at writing romances.
Haughtyshipping is my Pokemon Special OTP. I hope I don't make them OOC… The ending kinda sucks and rushed but I meant this to be a small drabble, so yeah.
