We are black

Or we are white

On the chess board

The kings are blind

The queens are helpless

The princes are a prat

While the princesses are stubborn

There are few on the battlefield

That hold there wits

Like the warlocks

Loyal and wise

Or the seers

Helpful and kind

We all end up on the board

Sooner or later

Even if we don't want to

The game is sick

Even if you fight on the right side

Blood is spilled

Over the black and white

Will it ever end

Will we once have peace that we had long ago

Outside the board

The players laugh

These players are called destiny

They hand them out

And then sit back and watch

Neither are black nor white

But they are red

A sickening blood red

One which gets more dark and heavy

Every time blood is shed

There is no escape

Of destiny

All you can do

Is play your part

And hope for the best

But there is no point

You're breaking yourself

Give up

And give in to the welcoming darkness

It's the best you've got

For the black and white

Darkness is the only way out
