A hero he was, in the eyes of a child
His father so wise
It seemed like nothing could bring him down
But the years went on
Thing started to change
The hero was no longer quite the same
Later and later he did stay away at night
In that place with those stones, lifeless and cold
Less and less time the man did spend at home
Conversions with thin air, echoed in the silent halls
More and more value placed in those stones
The boy, growing to be a man, yearned for the days of old
When his father would see him, love him
And not those pieces of rock
It seemed that those days were gone for forever
Seeking freedom, the man set fly
Turning his back on the one he loved most
Could no longer stand
Seeing the hero he once knew die a little more each day
Time did pass, it would never pause
That boy soon found himself facing that man
A pirate he was, aid he did give
To the ones against the country, his land
He watched as the shadow of the man he once knew
Fade from their world
As a man he did not cry
As the child inside did
The man simply kept running, he could never stop now
