Carlos Garcia sat down on the edge of his bed. Today had been a bad day. Gustavo, Kelly and Kendall had all yelled at him for not paying attention.

'Like Kendall has room to talk.' he thought.

Then Logan couldn't help him with his Algebra homework because he had his own work to do.

The 17 year old reached under his bed and grabbed his green duffel bag. Once he opened it up he found what he was looking for, a stuffed puppy he'd had since he was eight. The white and black stuffed animal had definitely been through a lot. One of its ears was missing (12 year old Kendall had tore it off by accident) the nose was no longer shiny and there was a grape Kool-Aid stain on the belly.

"Is that Sparky?" he heard James ask from the doorway.

Carlos' face turned red from embarrassment but he nodded anyway.

He watched James come over and sit down beside him. "I remember giving this to you when we were eight." he smiled fondly at the stuffed puppy. "I figured since your mom wouldn't let you have another dog after Sparky died, a stuffed one would be okay."

"I know I'm too old to still have this." Carlos admitted "but whenever I have a bad day it just helps."

"Hey, I have no room to talk." James told him "you've seen me talking to my lucky comb. "

James put a hand on his friends shoulder. "Tomorrow will be a better day Carlitos, I promise." He squeezed Carlos' shoulder "and if Kendall gives you any shit tomorrow I'll just; Wham, right in the face. "

Carlos laughed and put Sparky back in the bag. "I don't even need that stuffed dog when I have you. "

"It's the hair right?" he smirked causing Carlos to laugh even more "It's very comforting."
