"Foxshade, Come back!" Rosestar's calls rang out in her head. "Clawfeather! Don't go after her!" Ravenfeather yelled. Clawfeather said something that had made Ravenfeather stand there, eyes full with shock and over flowing with tears. Ravenfeather ran after Foxshade's brother trailed by Foxfur.

Foxshade ran to a remote meadow surrounded by cherry trees. She wasn't found by Ravenfeather or Clawfeather OR Foxfur. "Good." she sighed puffing her chest out and laying down. The poor cat was so tried that she didn't even bother to build a nest to sleep in. She twisted and turned as she sleep. As darkness consumed her, only the worst could happen.

"Wake up, please." a soft soothing voice overcame her senses. Foxshade woke up to find a peach cat with reddish splotches and a raccoon tail. looming over her. "Oh! You're a cat? You look like an artic fox!" yelped the she-cat in surprise. "You would have made a nice pet if you were." the she-cat mumbled under her breath.

"You keep foxes as pets?!" Foxshade leaped up, suddenly alarmed. "Silly! I'm a fox tamer!" Mewed the raccoon tailed cat. "You kidnap fox cubs?!" yowled Foxshade. The soft natured cat made this situation seem worse and worse then it could be. "No. there are distinct smells on the cubs. Their mothers take them on long journeys, then once I find the mother's scent, it's already three days old. I only nurse the one who wouldn't be able to make by themselves." The she-cat explained.

"Who even are you?!" yowled Foxshade, alarmed once more. "I'm Cherryblossom" the she-cat mewed. "And you are?" asked Cherryblossom excitedly. "I'm Foxshade." Foxshade examined Cherryblossom. "Wow! You even have fox in your name!"
She meowed excitedly. "You know, I"ve never met another cat in several moons!" Cherryblossom looked at the clouds and continued rambling.

Clearly! Thought Foxshade. This cat has no social skills. Foxshade sighed as she pretended to listen.

"I caught something for you!" Cherryblossom yowled excitedly crashing through the bushes surrounding the meadow. "You probably scared the other prey away, so, I have virtually no choice." sighed Foxshade. Foxshade looked down at what Cherryblossom had brought her and screeched in fear.

As Foxshade screeched in fear, Cherryblossom put her paw on Foxshade's mouth. The live snake in Cherryblossom's jaws started to squirm. She bit down and Foxshade heard an unnerving crunch. "Fresh meat!" she meowed hsappily. She spotted judgemental glare from Foxshade. "Well, I live with foxes for a living! What do you expect?!" yowled Cherryblossom in defense. Foxshade jumped up. "Fox-brain! You still expect me to eat that, that, crowfood worthy food?!" Foxshade hissed. Cherryblossom threw the snake at Foxshade's fore paws. Foxshade jumped back curling her lip.s

"YOU'RE CROWFOOD!" spat Cherryblossom. A fox cub came up behind her, eyes wide with confusion. She whispered something to the cub. The cub went back to to where ever it came from.

Foxshade had waited until the fox cub had retreated back into the bushes before yowling an insult to Cherryblossom.

"HAVE YOU LOOKED AT YOUR REFLECTION?!" Foxshade yowled feeling triumphant.

"Yes, but have you looked at from where you came from!?" spat Cherryblossom, eyes welling with tears.

" C'mon Moon!" Cherryblossom turned around. Moon barked at Cherryblossom and whined at Foxshade. " You want to stay with her?! Huh. Very well, be good" Cherryblossom gave Moon an affectionate lick in between his ears.

Moon sat down next to Foxshade and nosed the snake. " You want it?" she asked. Moon nodded his blue eyes glinting a red reflection from the sun. "You can have it." mewed the grey she-cat. She got up to check out the red she had seen in the reflection.

Foxshade found an injured fox cub. It's leg bleeding severely.
