She knew she didn't love Eddie anymore. She hadn't loved him for years now, but his death had caused her a lot of pain anyway. I mean, he was Lindsay's father. They had gone through a lot together. There had been a lot of bad things, sure, but there had been good also. All of this thoughts crossed her mind as she watched her ex-husband's dead body.

" Catherine. You can't say goodbye in an autopsy room" Doc Robbins said sympathetically to her. She turned around and left the room.

Warrick was walking to the locker room thinking about Cath and Lindsay. Yeah he always thought Eddie was an ass for the way that he had treated Catherine, but he still felt sorry. Not for him, but for Lindsay and for the woman he loved.

He opened the locker room's door and he saw her. Sitting in a bench, her head in her hands and her whole body shaking uncontrollably with sobs. He sat down next to her and wrapped her in his strong , muscular arms. Catherine leant into his embrace and hugged him back sobbing into his chest while he stroked her hair and whispered sweet encouraging words.

After a couple of minutes Cath recomposed herself and slowly unwrapped herself from Warrick.

"I'm sorry Rick" she said with a small chuckle. "I'm such a baby".

"Hey, none of that okay? You've been through a lot today. You and Lindsay both. It's understandable" he said putting a hand in the side of her face. She leant into his touch. "Yeah, thank you. I just…I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't been able to take Linds out of that car alive…I just…" her voice started to crack up and a new set of tears streamed down her face. Warrick brushed the tears away with his thumb and pressed his forehead lightly over hers and stared into her blue eyes. Catherine stared into his emerald green ones, those eyes had always had an effect on her that made her feel goose bumps. Well, actually it was Warrick that had that effect on her, but those eyes were the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. And the eyes she is sure she'll remember forever.

"I'm here for you Cath. And Linds it's okay. You took her out from that car, you saved her, she's okay sweetie".

She smiled at him and stroked his strong jaw line lightly. He returned the smile and slowly leant into her until his lips came crushing down on hers. Catherine kissed him back softly. "I know that" Cath whispered "You've always been here for us, that's why I love you". She kissed him softly again.

"I love you too baby" he said smiling. "Let's get out of here okay? Go home, you and Linds need some rest"

"Yeah. She's with Sara in the break room" They stood up and walked towards the break room. There was Lindsay sleeping soundly on the couch while Sara finished some paperwork. "Hey guys, she fell asleep a while ago, she was exhausted and I'm catching up on my paperwork. How are you doing Cath?" Sara said.

"I'm okay. Thank you for looking after her Sar" Cath said giving her friend a hug.

"No worries. If you need anything you know where to call me" She said breaking the hug and laving the room.

Warrick sat down next to Lindsay and stroked her cheek. "You're safe now princess" he whispered to her and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Catherine smiled with teary eyes as she looked at the man she loved being so good to her daughter.

"Come on Rick, let's go home" she said placing a hand in his shoulder. Warrick nodded and carefully grabbed the little girl and carried her to his Tahoe.

As Warrick placed Linds in the back seat, Catherine sat in the passenger seat looking at them. "We'll be okay. As long as Warrick is with us". She thought and grabbed Warrick`s hand as they drove home.
