Sitting in the back of the car for the past 3 hours was boring to say the least. I glance over my shoulder at the trailer and straining my eyes see Hera's head bob behind the tinted glass. The car jitters down the country road towards Horseland. After leaving Horseland for 8 years it was exciting to come back. When the car pulls to a stop in front of a familiar large, blue barn with the red doors. A large, male collie comes running as I step out. "Shep! Oh my goodness, you've gotten so big!" I say excitedly as I squat down to scratch his ears and tail. "Last I saw you, you didn't even blink your eyes." After petting Shep some more I get up, dust off my legs and lowering the ramp enter the trailer. Hera's dark head lifts and her baby blue eye studies me from her left side. I untie her leading her down the ramp into the sun. The gold rays lights up her chocolate coat and her pale and dusty rose mane.
"Hey!" A familiar voice calls. Looking up from my horse I see a tall blonde haired boy running towards me. I smile and wave slightly as Hera dips her head stomping her hoof impatiently. "Who are you?" The horseshoe pendant makes my heart jump.
"Will? Will Taggert, right?" His face shows his surprise as six riders on horseback appear behind him.
"I'm sorry... Should I know you?" He asks. I laugh softly as Hera reaches out to sniff the horses. Will rubs the back of his neck as he holds Jimber's reins tightly. Jimber looks a bit older than before too.
"Uh, I'm Juno? Juno King? You remember?" I ask. Hera lets out a whinny as Jimber snorts against the mare's muzzle. I giggle softly as do the other riders.
"J-Juno? You can't be Juno. Juno is-" He begins counting on his gloved fingers.
"Juno is 17 now." I say with a small laugh. He drops Jimber's reins and embraces me in a single armed hug. Bailey, a much older Bailey, hops down from his bay gelding and hugs me too. "It's good to see you both." I say with a bright, warm smile.
"Guys, this is Juno, she is an old friend of our's from way back in the past. She used to live on the land, but she moved. Her parents sent her back so they could travel overseas." Will says as he and Bailey each keep an arm around my shoulders. The other riders climb down. The girls from the black Arabian mare, chestnut Appaloosa mare and the black-and-white pinto mare approach with horses close behind. After introduction conclude with Sarah and Scarlet, Alma and Button, Calypso and Molly, Zoey, Chloe, Chili and Pepper.
"And this is Hera. She's the best horse ever. She comes from a very well-known Arabian stud that was imported." Hera tosses her head flipping her long mane.
"Wow, she's beautiful. I love her highlights. Those are so, so pretty!" Sarah said as she reaches out to pet the mare's long face.
