I don't think I've seen you giggle in a long time⦠You should do it more often, it's cute.
Korra had remembered those words. She had made sure to giggle more often. Asami must have noticed, because she was smiling more often, and she was even doing her signature hair flip more and more these days. She rather enjoyed the hair flip. Asami even told her that the reason she tied it back was because Korra was gone.
Korra always told Asami how much that smile meant to her.
When Asami frowned, her day got considerably worse.
But when Asami smiled, her day brightened like the sun piercing through the storm clouds and creating a beam of light that made people feel incredibly more hopeful of the things to come.
Asami had always loved to see Korra giggle. Mostly because it was always followed by her adorable lopsided smile that she loved to see.
According to Katara, Aang also had the same smile.
When she was in the spirit world, Iroh had informed her that Roku also inherited the same smile from another Avatar. Reportedly, Avatar Kyoshi also had a similar smile.
Nobody knew at what point the lopsided grin became hereditary, but Korra had always assumed that Wan had it, and that it was Raava's way of making sure that there was always a bit of Wan in every Avatar.
Asami had what Korra had described as a 'crack theory' that Raava had a crush on Wan, and that was why she had followed him into an endless struggle. While Korra had described it as a 'crazy theory', she never explicitly denied the theory.
Asami was in love with Korra, and was positive that she would love her, even if she wasn't the Avatar.
Whenever Korra smiled, Asami felt incredibly warm, like a calming fire inside a temple during late fall or winter. She was at peace when Korra smiled. Asami felt cold when Korra frowned, as if the fire was suddenly extinguished by a pile of snow.
Both of them knew that the other loved the other's smile, and did their best to smile as often as possible, just so that way their partner would smile as well.
These smiles brightened the spirit world as well. Though, neither of them were aware that the spirit world ever got gloomy in the first place, because they kept each other smiling for a long, long time.
"Have I mentioned I love your smile today?"
"Yes."
"Just wanted to make sure."
A/N: So, very little dialogue in this one, that's gotta be something, right?
Korrasami Month, Prompt: Smiles.
Be sure to smile, one of my teachers always said that 'if you smile on the outside, soon enough, you'll start smiling on the inside.'
He's a smart guy.
