"Are you sure he'll like me?" she asked yet again.
"You have nothing to worry about."
"What does he look like?"
"Many women consider him to be very handsome."
"I want him to like me."
"He will notice your eagerness to please and find it charming."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Tell me again what it was like to know him, growing up."
"He's like no other wizard I've ever known. He has amazing power and incredible control. It's said that he's the true heir of Slytherin."
A shiver went through her. Her eyes shone and her whole body became alert and taut. He smiled indulgently, knowing he would reap the reward of her adoration of another man.
"You like that idea, don't you, kitten?"
"You know I don't like that name." She pouted, but it was for show. She went back to the subject that interested her. "What have you seen him do?"
"I've watched him do many things. He can perform Unforgivable Curses with an ease I didn't think possible."
"Really?" Her heart skipped a beat. "Do you think he'll show me how?"
"If you like."
"Which ones have you seen him do?"
"All of them. He put a Ministry employee under Imperius Curse so that he could get access to the birth records of a Mudblood pretending to be a pureblood."
"The nerve of him!" Her eyes blazed in indignation.
"He was right to do it."
"No, I meant the nerve of the Mudblood."
"That's my witch."
"What did he do to the Mudblood, next?"
"We watched him use Cruciatus until the fool was screaming for mercy, and then he used the Killing Curse, all the while speaking in a normal tone of voice as though he were reading the paper aloud."
She shivered again as they approached the room where the great man stood.
"Rodolphus, you've brought her? She's quite lovely." He noticed her trembling and beckoned with a long-fingered hand. "Don't be afraid, my dear. Lord Voldemort is delighted to meet you."
Her eyes were shining as she stepped forward and knelt down. "Oh, my lord! I'm not afraid. I've waited my whole life to meet you."
