Mudblood. Mudblood. Mudblood.
The word rang through Severus Snape's ears on a daily basis, particularly when he was teaching Slytherin classes. Every time he heard it, he cringed. He felt his stomach churning and the need to throw up was very prominent. The only time he had ever used the word, he had lost the woman he was still in love with to that day.
"Oi! Mudblood!" Draco Malfoy snapped at Hermione Granger.
Before Severus could even think of what he was doing, he growled, "Don't use that word in my classroom. 50 points from Slytherin." He then put his head back down and continued marking the essay he had been marking. It had been the first time he had ever removed points from his own house before but he couldnt stop himself. The room had fallen silent and all the students were staring at him, wide eyed and open mouthed, but he simply couldnt stop himself. Hermione wasn't all that different to Lily Evans after all. It was only when she became associated with Potter that things changed.
