A/N: A short little drabbleish one shot that I was just randomly inspired to write. Takes place several months after 'Knockout' and the song was also inspired by the 'advice from Castle' video.

Enjoy!

Kate clutched the steaming cup of coffee tightly in her hands, the warmth comforting her on the chilly night, her eyes focused on the man sitting across the way from her.

The most recent case was on the lighter side, as light as a murder case could be and though she wasn't particularly overworked by the case, it was just one of those nights.

One of those nights that had been happening a lot more often recently.

One of those nights where she just wanted to spend time with her partner.

Never mind the fact that she had spent the whole day with him, figuring out clues and tracking down suspects.

Never mind the fact that even though it had been months since she'd been shot she should have gone home to relax.

Kate Beckett wanted to spend her off hours with one person and one person alone.

And so there he sat, his blue eyes appearing even more dark and intense in the dimly lighting of the cafe. His smile was warm so unlike the usual smirk that rested on his lips. And for once, the man of many words, the nine year old on a sugar rush, Richard Castle was silent.

It wasn't that they didn't have anything to say to each other and the silence was most definitely not awkward. Kate found it soothing and his presence comforting.

The cafe was quiet despite the fact that it was still early and over the speaker grill above her head, Kate could her the sounds of Nat King Cole's smooth jazz vocals.

This night was perfect, she decided as she continued to gaze into the blue eyes across from her.

Finally, all the songs made sense.

L is for the way you look at me

O is for the only one I see

V is very, very extraordinary

E is even more than anyone that you adore.

Love was made for me and you.
