It was never Yondu's intention to father a terrant from Earth, if someone had said to him he would take a young 8 year old boy under his wing and raise him as a ravager he would have laughed at and accused them of being sentimental or too soft
He was a captain and he had to keep his men in order not to mention a reputation to maintain the last thing he needed was them thinking he had gone soft. They were space pirates they stole to make a profit it was a way of life for them take what you can give nothing back
Yondu craved more and more he loved making a profit and doing deals, which did involve his arrow sometimes. He usually used it to intimidate accociates that spoke out against him or disagreed or even on his own fellow ravagers, a good deal he could never let pass by giving the opportinity
However one mistake he did make was when he delivered children from different planets to a man known as Ego it was a huge risk, one that would cost him greatly with the other captains.
It was a snowy evening on the planet of Conraxia where the ravagers often visited to let off steam or to whine down with some female company, the men were either busy dancing with hookers or drinking and sharing tales of their latest adventures
Yundo had been sat at the bar of a place called Iron Lotus swirling his glass whisky around he had a lot on his mind to contend with, always keeping his heart hidden for fear of any one that got to close to him, letting him down. He had no family being that his parents cruelly sold him to slavery as a child so he had no real memories of them he did not even know if they was even alive not that he cared to adknowledge that. The only real family he had was his ravager companions even around them Yondu was always vacant in his expressions either yelling when one of his men got a simple task on the ship wrong or when they would ask a ludicrous question.
All of this with his feelings and expressions was about to change though when he took on a proposition that would eventually lead him to a boy known as Peter Quill ...
